  I really think this is much ado about nothing. I could own a porn video company and donate half of the shares to the WTS and maintain voting rights of the shares, and it wouldn't mean the WTS is in the porn business.

  The fact is the WTS didn't solicit the owners or invest money in the business. It's really a non issue in my opinion.

  I really feel like there are bigger fish to fry with regard to the WTS errors, and misrepresentations. Pursuing this and trying to connect them with warfare is a waste of time.

  Crisis of Conscience, Chapter 3

  the chapter is entitled governing body, with a subheading entitled three monarchs.. in this chapter, ray franz thoroughly debunks the notion advanced by fred franz that wt leadership is modeled after a so-called 1st century governing body.. however, something else that got my attention was the fact that rutherford was referred to as chief by overseas jw's.. on page 70, there is a picture of the london bethel family.. the caption reads: "see 'em grinning?

  the chief had just finished telling them something in the "colored language.".

  now, this really grabbed my attention!

  Blueweed, Assuming you are correct, that would mean that the Holy Spirit did not direct the GB to appoint Ray Franz to join them. You cannot have it both ways.

  I too have met several annointed people. I think 5 in my former congregations. One was a straight up lunatic middle aged woman who was just plain nuts. One was an older woman who seemed to be very spiritual, but didn't talk much. One was a friend of my dad's who was the only person to call on me when I stopped going to meetings. He was DF'd a few months after I stopped going, and was killed in a car wreck on his way to Thursday night meeting. The other two were elders. One is one of the nicest and most genuine christians I've ever met, and the last one was my PO for a number of years. He is recently divorced for having an affair and was removed as an elder and reproved.

  So, out of 5 I've known personally, only one could I look back now and say, "Maybe they are anointed."

  Incidentally, I never understood why the WTS made such a big deal of whether Jesus was killed on a Cross or a "Torture Stake" tm (I'd like to figure out how to put the little trade mark sign next to "Torture Stake" since I've never heard anyone ever use the term "Torture Stake" other than JW's for any reason whatsoever)

  This kid lives near me. His brother will attend HS with my step son. He is really an amazing kid. His parents have worked with him and he is able to interact very well with others as opposed to some other children with Asperger's or Autism.

  Ray Franz had an interesting take on this. According to him, if I remember correctly, when referring to going house to house and door to door, Luke was talking about staying at people's homes, not going from one door to the next as the WTS would have you think. He then says that during GB discussion, Fred Franz said that someone could go in the front door and out the back door, thus going from door to door. The rest of the GB laughed, but he claims that Fred Franz was serious about this.

  The woman is absolutely right to sue. Whether you agree with JW's or not about Christmas, it doesn't matter. They don't celebrate it or take part in the customs of the Xmas season. If her religious beliefs would not allow her to wear a santa hat, then they had no right to fire her.

  What if she were Muslim, or Jewish. If she were Muslim, would they require her to wear a star of David to commemorate Hannakuh (sp?)?

  THe store is absolutely wrong and the woman absolutely right in this case.

  My wife got me tickets to see Willie Nelson in concert!!!! I'm very excited! I'm 38 years old, and Willie has ALWAYS been one of my favorites!
