Why do some people who were trapped in the WT and wake up, still believe in the Bible God who allowed them to be deceived for years.
by pistolpete inwhy do some people who were trapped in the wt and wake up after much frustration and anger that they were lied to, still believe in the bible god who allowed them and their families to be deceived and trapped for years.
i have an acquaintance who is a lot older than me and for the past 30 years he has been out of the watchtower religion and is sola scriptura.
sola scriptura is a theological doctrine that posits the christian scriptures as the sole infallible source of authority for christian faith and practice.

God didn’t lie to us. The JW organization Did. Some of us were stupid enough to fall for it. -

Accepting the reason why the Watchtower Corporation and its top leaders are endeavored to brainwash people
by Rocketman123 intaking a close look at the operation of the jws religion you can observe technics of brainwashing orchestrated through the literature the wts publishes for its members such as the watchtower .. everything these men have done had calculating agendas, which were to firstly attract attention to the literature they published, to cultivate power toward themselves, to intentionally take control over people's lives and of course draw in money.. brainwashing (also known as mind control, menticide, coercive persuasion, thought control, thought reform, and re-education) is the concept that the human mind can be altered or controlled by certain psychological techniques.
brainwashing is said to reduce its subjects' ability to think critically or independently,[1] to allow the introduction of new, unwanted thoughts and ideas into their minds,[2] as well as to change their attitudes, values and beliefs.

You know, the biggest contributor to me getting mentally out was the realization that I was trained to lie to myself.
I realized that if I were to blatantly say something like “ our dedication is to Jehovah and his organization.” I would NEVER be criticized. Literally, you can idolize the organization and the GB and verbally announce that you will remain loyal to the organization and you will be seen as a spiritually mature brother or sister.
So glad I’m out. So angry that I wasted the first 30 years of my life in the cult. Even more sad that I have so many family members and old friends that have nothing to do with me.

I know of one in Lafayette, Indiana who claimed to be anointed. He was our presiding overseer for some time. He was removed as an elder, publicly reproved and his devout JW wife obtained a divorce and she remained in good standing. Apparently, he stayed anointed.

Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians, why do so many ex JW's deny this?
by nicolaou injehovah's witnesses accept jesus as christ, the son of god.
they try, in their own way, to live by his teachings and imitate him.
they pray, read the bible and meet together regularly for worship.. i won't minimise any of the harm and damage they cause but for the life of me, i can't see how anyone can credibly deny that they are christians.. why do so many former jws have a problem with this?

Because Christianity is a relationship, not a religion. Until JW's understand that their relationship with God and Jesus is between them and God and Jesus and has nothing to do with their standing with the Watchtower Society, I don't see how they could even call themselves Christian.

If a JW Came To Your Door How Would You Handle It?
by minimus injehovah's witnesses have never come to my door but they have come to my girlfriends door.
i have coached her as to what to say or ask but it appears that they always seem to come when she's not there.
.....just curious would you get into it with a jehovah's witness at your door especially if it was someone you did not know?.

I haven't had them come to my door....but they hang out on the sidewalk in front of my local Kroger. I engage them from time to time. I don't want to be known as a guy who the figure is opposed, so I just ask questions.
I say things like......"My brother is a Jehovah Witness [intentionally mispronouncing it] and I've talked to him some. Now, do you guys believe that at Armageddon, you have to be a Jehovah Witness to live?"
This is usually enough, if I do it sheepishly enough to get them trying to defend their faith. They throw the old straw-man arguments up that I remember using. I just direct them back and insist that they answer, not what the Watchtower says, but what do they believe.
I just make sure I just ask a lot of questions, because you know how much they love to use their superior Bible knowledge......you can use enough questions to make them see the silliness of their own reasoning. At least it should get them thinking.

I've been found out!
by pale.emperor inwell, thats it folks.. my identity on here has been rumbled and reported to the elders.
someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.
i just feel sad for my daughter.

Ask them who is making the accusation. Then tell them that you have a biblical right to have that person accuse you in person.
That'll leave them stammering for a minute. They have to concede that to you. They must have the person make accusation in front of you unless you confess.
My suggestion: Don't confess. Treat them as equals both intellectually and spiritually. Do not treat them like they are your superiors. Do your homework on how they are instructed to do their process. They will screw it up because they are ignorant.

My Bible Study Is Wide Awake To The TTATT
by James Jack ini ran into my old bible study at the kingdom hall recently, he was baptized as a jw 8 years ago.
we started talking about small things and catching up about our families and then the bombshell.. "my wife and i are deeply troubled by the watchtower change of doctrine, prophecy, and their history"!
"did you know about charles russell and his failed marriage... his view of pyramids... generation mistakes... and dates... that place in california for returning prophets..."and on and on he went.. i told him i knew all about it and then show him a publication on display in the foyer (i think it is divine plan of the ages), and it had a fold out of a pyramid and a description on bible verses that showed 1914 was the year the big a was going to happen.

My sister denounced the two elders
by opusdei1972 inyesterday my sister presented, against the two stalker elders, a complaint before the district prosecutor.
the prosecutor said to my sister that in the country there are freedom of religion, so it is totally illegal to accuse a person loudly in the street before her neighbors , and to insist for going to a illegal judicial questioning.
she even showed to the prosecutor a past notification in which she asked to the elders a written document specifying the charge of apostasy so as to attend the judiciary meeting with her attorney.

After the RAC, the elder book is in the public domain, at least the contents are. It still is copyright protected, but the contents can be accessed. As long as she quotes it and cites where she got it, I think she'd be on pretty solid ground. But, I'm not an attorney.
