if you're a dunderhead on neo-babylonian history (like me) you've probably remained totally clueless whenever the subject of the chronology leading to back 607 b.c.
since i had nothing better to do today, i decided to finally take the time it takes to understand why dub chronology on that date is wrong.
this piece of information alone should give you a clue about how bored i am!.
Farkel,
Excellent review. Pretty much sums up most of the questions I had........BTT
there's so many good choices, i can barely pick!.
dart?.
shasta cola?.
Did any of you ever get a good beer or liquor buzz on at the pool at the hotel after the sessions? I used to with some witness friends of mine. Fun times.
people usually start relationships with the posibility of lasting,,,,, my question is, if a person would die/travel/ get too sick, in a short period , lets say 1 or 2 years, would you still date him/her?.
Until I met my wife, ALL of my relationships had an expiration date. I would have had it no other way. Usually I'd break up just before Xmas so I wouldn't have to buy them anything. Date someone else from Xmas to just before valentines day. Date someone else from just after valentine's day until their birthday or the next Xmas whichever came first. I was quite an operator. LOL those were the days.........

Ms Jones, YOU HAD CHOCOLATE MALTS????!!!!?? I don't remember chocolate malts.
I always liked the frozen OJ, cheese danishes and shasta lemon-lime.........
Does anyone remember the burritos? I loved those too.......a white cooler full of hot burritos, I loved the sight of that.
We used to have breakfast at our CA's in Indianapolis. One of the menu items was "Muff-n-egg" I think it was 5 tickets. I was young, but I remember thinking "What are they doing having THAT on a sign?" I guess I had a dirty mind even in my pre-puberty years. lol
i am not an expert on this issue.
i have read and re-read information about it, but i guess i am somewhat dense when it comes to this topic.. my question is simple: the watchtower suggests that they believe the bible is the unerring word or god.
that it must be believed above anything else.
Alfred, No need to apologize.....I wasn't insulted. I have just had trouble muddling through all the information to get to what I am really interested in.
SAB- are you saying that the WT is correct to say that the archaeology doesn't coincide with the scriptures?
I have never heard of the 70 years being symbolic before.....Interesting.

Alfred, I know it would screw up their 1914/1918/1919 extrapolation. However, if Jerusalem was destroyed in 587, does it contradict what the Bible says? I know there is a lot of information about it, but I can only seem to find information that seems to prove the 587 date. My question, more simply put, is: What is the WTS stated reasoning for 587 not being consistent with the bible? How is 587 actually consistent with what the Bible says?

Does Jerusalem's destruction in 587 counter what the Bible says? If not, why does the WT suggest that believing in 587 goes against what the bible says?
when i was still serving as an elder in the late summer of 2006 in a congregation of jws in socal we received a letter from the "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses" (read: the governing body) directing that anyone pursuing a higher education would be disqualified from privileges of service: elder, servant, pioneer, etc.
i remember this quite distinctly because i had just received by ba in education in june a few months before this.
in 2002, i had decided to pursue a degree under the society's then current "it's a personal decision" policy and was quite shocked at their drastic policy change.

You're probably Usint IE9. Go up to tools and go to compatability view settings and check the box that says "Display all websites in compatability view"
That should take care of it.
it's my birthday today, sept 19. i was born in 1972. .
i find it interesting that so many people i know post a "happy birthday" on my facebook page.
all of those years inside the wts org., and i always thought birthdays were evil, pagan, god dishonoring.
The best thing about having a birthday on Sept. 19th is that it's also "Talk Like a Pirate Day"!
