i initiated a christmas tradition with my son when he was little and have continued it all these years - thought i'd share it with you in case you have little ones.. since my kids just can't wait to open their presents, i wrap one special gift for them to open x-mas eve.
it's always the same thing - brand new pajamas and a cuddly toy for bed time.
my kids absolutely loved this christmas eve tradition.
That's one thing I love about being out of the org!
My kids love it when I totally deck out the place for x-mas! They know very little about my jw background so that makes me appreciate the holidays even more!

that elder is probably being a buttwipe. i see nothing wrong with saying bulletin and i dont see how jw's can see anything wrong with it either.
maybe because it has the word "bullet" in it. (like, "please, you might as well just put a bullet in my head if you make me sing the kingdum melodies) but the jw's are always nitpicking words in the english language to find something wrong with.

my grandmother on my mothers side has cancer and is getting ready to undergo chemo again.
when the family got together for thanksgiving this year i had a discussion with my aunt about her view of life after death, it was a little odd.
well more than a little so i thought i'd post it to see what you guys thought.
My aunt is an artist. A very very good graphic artist in Daytona. She taught art for a while and was an animator at Disney for a bit. She's also done mad amounts of drugs! Pot, shrums, lsd, you name it! So she's always a little out there!
oooh! did she do that "pink elephants on parade" bit on the Dumbo movie? I always thought that was pretty psychadelic...

i was wondering how many famous actors, musicians, and other public figures either are jw's or became jw's at some point in their life.
eveyone knows about [b] prince{b], and [b]michael jackson[/b], but i've also heard that they snagged up [b]george benson[b], a former indian prime minister and rapper [b]dres[/b] of the group the black sheep.
obviously this will be a short list since the society doesn't do much to encourge any kind of success, especially not the kind that will leave you with millions of adoring fans.

The Wayan brothers were raised JW. I don't know if they were ever baptised but they are no longer active/practising JW's.

i was at university the other night in the computer lab, cruising this site, well a fellow classmate who has been in my class since sept and we have become friends, walks past, looks at the site i am on and says, "i noticed you are on a jw site, did you know i am a jw, are you one?".
i was shocked.

i was just watching nightline (i think it was) with diane sawyer.
the stars from ocean's twelve were on there.
i am not a person who normally gives too much praise to celebs or athletes but these guys/gals (brad pitt, catherine zeta-jones, andy garcia, george clooney, matt damon and don cheadle) were pretty brilliant.
