All that we ask is for the peodo database to be leaked to a responsible source, like a good law firm or journalist
so, i am trying to get my head around what the right position of elders should be when they come across crime is.. i think i get the issuess around clergy confidentiality - and how that might potentially be breached when they talk about it to other elders, let alone the police.. but if people are saying that elders - or clergy of another faith should report crime to the police when it is confessed to the, then where are the boundaries.. so if someone says they should report to police on a confessed example of child abuse, that's one thing.. how about reporting to police consensual sex between a 19year old and 15 year old - which is statutory rape in the uk.
how about criminal fraud if they come across it.
assault on a congregant?.
Personally I've felt that anything that would violate the commandant to love your neighbor should qualify.
Covers pretty much everything, and hey follows the Bible. Go figure
So that would include protecting your neighbors from pedophiles and murders and even abusers of spouses and kids.
i know that some people on the board have experience of being mormons, so i would be interested in your feedback.
at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.
in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.
I love when the Mormons visit me. I talk about the infamous salamander letter, south park, and the magic underwear.
My favorite thing is to also crack open a beer in front of them. My wife likes to make coffee when they are here as well.
They haven't visited me in a few years but hopefully they will. I have south park on cue to help. I'd recommend that before anyone joins they visit Reddit and check out exmormon first.
Mormon history makes Rutherford look like a saint
a wonderful announcement to my friends in the forum.
i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.
in the month of may 2016 i wrote my resignation letter and gave it to the elders in my congregation.
onwards and upwards COLLINS - may you find what you are truly looking for.
Congratulations on your freedom.

Live long and prosper
i had posted about a month ago that my niece, who just turned 15, was getting disfellowshipped.
i learned this past weekend that she tried to commit suicide.
between being df'd, and her dad not being around, it became too much for her.
Hey Keyser you are awesome for taking her in.
I love that and look to your example on that
the full program has been leaked in spanish.. http://www.extj.com/showthread.php?27685-juego-de-bosquejos-de-discursos-de-la-asamblea-regional-2016.
here is my back up, including the files already extracted: link.
i have yet to read it.
Damn google translate and my fingers cant work fast enough. Should have listened more in Spanish class.
Oh the irony with not taking my education seriously.
PS. Thanks Wifi and the leaker!
i think that's the correct phrase?
anyway when i first came here, that little picture that "the rebel" hides behind, was a self portrait of a very sad man, who simply had too much knowledge.
now i feel after 7 months here, i should repaint that " avetor" give some happiness to the eyes, and a contented smile to the lips.. in short my " avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge.
Its all about the Simpsons in that episode where Homer has to beg for his job back. Mr. Burns places a special demotivation poster on his wall "Don't forget your here forever." Homer then places pictures over the poster and it says "Do it for her."
It's so much like the Watchtower to me, they demotivate everyone to stay and follow, but its best to escape for my girls (aka - do it for her).
i don't recall ever hearing a financial report at one of the big summer conventions.
do i have blocked memories, or are they even more secretive about money at that level than they are at the circuit events?
i'm doing a little research on the instructions for handling circuit assembly accounts and that got me curious about the bigger conventions.
It's the exact same announcement and form used for assembly's.
The major difference between a convention and an assembly is that few flinch with the convention costs. Usually only a couple of selected brothers know the true cost. Because they find convention facility's cheapest point of the year many times I've seen the travel b budget greater than the rental cost. People would be surprised.I did notice that last year the total costs were up but no idea why, it's possible the per publisher charge was added then.
I've heard some brothers say that conventions are the real funding for the org besides #1 charitable planning.
