The sign that indicates we're living in the “last days” is composite. It's only been in the 20th century that there was two World Wars and a global terrorist threat. It's only been in the 20th century that we've had the technology to "ruin the earth."
But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give [their] reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” Revelation 11:18
If the world was always free from the calamities described in Matthew 24:4-14 and 2 Timothy 3:1-7 that indicate we're living in the last days, there would be no need for divine intervention in the first place.

The Gentile Times Reconsidered
by Spade indisproving the date 1914 as a significant year in bible prophecy is of great importance to some (e.g.

Translation: Multiple posters tried reasoning with the resident schizophrenic retard who's only available outlet for social interaction with people associated with JWs is a message board forum on the internet overwhelmed by apostates. In other words, when's the last time the local JWs paid you visit or invited you to a gathering?
Last Sunday.

I'm nobody special, but can this thread be locked now? You're just arguing for the sake of arguing.
Translation: I can't engage in a theological conversion if someone disagrees with me without coming undone. It just goes to show you that some people can't handle the truth.

Here you go Spade.
Be the hero.
Grow a pair.
Take on Allymom's challenge (the same as Farkel's challenge) and show us all the mistake in a tabulated form, complete with references.
586/587 the K.I.S.S. approach --- no VAT4956, Ptolemy, Josephus needed
The challenge from Alleymom is quite simple. She stated “Just go by the actual kings, whose names and regnal lengths are known from tens of thousands of cuneiform tablets from many different towns and villages all over southern Mesopotamia.”
I would have to see these tens of thousands of cuneiform tablets for myself.
Ancient history cannot be proven, because there are no living informants. And any attempt to make a chronological scheme of the kings of ancient nations is tentative. Chronological tablets do not represent the final word of the matter.
I've stated more than once that other sources can be used to understand where we are in the stream of time in relation to God's Kingdom. For example, look at what's happened since 1914 when Satan and his demons were ousted from heaven. Society has been degenerating ever since. I take a very different approach to evidence for God than most people here. Evidence for God is not just based on scripture and/or world events. -

*** w63 1/15 p. 45 par. 16 The Challenge of the “Good News” ***
following the death of King Solomon in 997 B.C., the original nation of Israel was divided into two kingdoms, the ten-tribe kingdom of Israel to the north with Samaria as capital, and the two-tribe kingdom of Judah to the south with Jerusalem as capital. The northern ten-tribe kingdom was destroyed by the Assyrians in 740 B.C., and then in 607 B.C. the kingdom of Judah was destroyed by the Babylonians. When this prophecy was uttered the ten-tribe kingdom no longer existed. According to secular records the 10-tribe kingdom was destroyed in 720BC (or according to the WT Chronology it was destroyed in 720 BC). By the time Jeremiah uttered his prophecy the ten-tribe kingdom had ceased to exist as a nation.
If you choose to go this route simply to disprove the divine prophecy, the prophecy in still has direct application to Jerusalem as foretold in Daniel 9:1-2:
In the first year of Da·ri′us the son of A·has·u·e′rus of the seed of the Medes, who had been made king over the kingdom of the Chal·de′ans; in the first year of his reigning I myself, Daniel, discerned by the books the number of the years concerning which the word of Jehovah had occurred to Jeremiah the prophet, for fulfilling the devastations of Jerusalem, [namely,] seventy years. Daniel 9:1-2
The evidence is overwhelming even if some choose to ignore the evidence. -

For me; it's interesting to challenge opposing viewpoints. Why ask why? If the ambiguity bothers you drink an alcoholic beverage.

Spade, I guess the answer to your rhetorical question is that only the Jehovah's Witnesses can bring about a "New World Order", whatever that means. Here's a foretaste of what it will be like:
Getting way off topic, but none-the-less, your concerns can answered.
http://www.watchtower21.org/2010/09/media-spotlight.html
Legitimate support groups for abuse victims of religious organizations are backed by real evidence and all Christian denominations including Protestant Churches are generally represented by the same central group. Jehovah's Witnesses and the elders that serve in Christian congregations around the world cannot be found in this group or similar networks.
SNAP - The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests
The only organization with a focus on Jehovah's Witnesses (Silent Lambs) is administered by a former member of Jehovah's Witnesses, a former elder (Bill Bowen) and is in reality nothing more than a slanderous religious hate group masquerading as a support group for victims of abuse. Continued...

It's no use discussing with The Faithful and Discreet Spade. For the sake of others who may read this,
Yes, mankind has the ability to improve the world to a great extent. Perhaps it won't be perfect, but it certainly will be a lot better than it would be if everyone sat down and did nothing, on the assumption that the Big Guy will come "very soon" and will correct everything. I think that's not so much the behavior of the religious as it is the behavior of the lazy, or the free-loader who won't move a finger but will certainly not mind to take advantage of somebody else's sweat.
People who didn't believe the end was near, and who didn't believe some guy from above would change things in a snap of the fingers worked hard to produce the things we have today. I suppose that Louis Pasteur wouldn't have made any vaccines if he had thought that it was messing with God's plan and that "it was shining the brass of a sinking ship". Fortunately for millions, he didn't think so.
If YHWH were to come and straighten everything, what the hell is he waiting for? If we assume he exists, he's somewhere sitting on his ass while those soon to be destroyed are indeed working to improve mankind's lot. I have the feeling that Mr. YHWH is less of a kind heart than Mr. Pasteur was, for example. And if things can indeed be improved, why would most of mankind have to die?
I say, this is a lie, this way of thinking is not only deluded but dangerous, and it's about time we stop wasting our time in this nonsense.
In light of divine prophecies, Jehovah's Witnesses do not waver from working hard and working good towards others.
In fact, also, when we were with you, we used to give you this order: “If anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10
Let us hold fast the public declaration of our hope without wavering, for he is faithful that promised. And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:23-25
Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him do hard work, doing with his hands what is good work, that he may have something to distribute to someone in need. Ephesians 4:28
Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion, awaiting and keeping close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah, through which [the] heavens being on fire will be dissolved and [the] elements being intensely hot will melt! But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell. 2 Peter 3:11-13
