Are JW Children Set Up To Fail In The Real World?

Spade is lying - again.

First, it is a well known and established fact that a huge percentage of Witness kids 'leave the truth'. This, by itself, pushes them towards failure, as they must cope with the world, often while being shunned by friends and family at a time in their lives when they need support to build a career.

Second, to the extent that Watchtower indoctrination enters their minds, they are trained to expect negative, hopeless outcomes. The world is Devil dominated and corrupt. Everyone they know outside of the congregation will die horribly at Armageddon soon - including well meaning schoolteachers, helpful police, older mentors and that kindly old lady down the street who paid them to do odd jobs. These 'wicked' people are doomed, doomed, doomed because Jehovah is going to kill them all soon. Try maintaining a sense of optimism about the future with such negativity as a continuing backdrop to any effort to build an independent life.

Finally, many closeknit religions make an effort to train, support and cultivate young people in practical skills and career knowledge - such as Mormons and Orthodox Jews. There is little of this among Witnesses, whose cold-hearted leadership proclaims that they are not a "social club".

Go to ANY one company and ask them about their products in relation to some other companies products. Say Microsoft XBox brand vs. Sony Playstation brand. Here you have a console that is plauged with crashes and errors, and they'll say "We feel confident in the XBox brand. We have sold 50 million units and blah blah blah.....

Jehovah's Witnesses have Knowledge that Leads to Everlasting Life to offer. Malicious opposers have nothing to offer except what is good for tearing down. It doesn't take much to identify another person’s faults and tear him down with cutting remarks. Case in point; PlayStation salesman do not slander the executives of Microsoft in an effort to sell a game console. From my observation, opposers of Jehovah's Witnesses are bent on slandering members of the organization, primarily the Governing Body. Some malicious opposers (Jewish religious leaders) in Jesus day were rotten in their hearts right to their core, and Jesus knew it. All Jesus had to do was listen to their conniving antagonism to know they were ill willed. The same is true in the last days. There are apostate fighters of God that run rampant and speak twisted things.

I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves. Acts 20:29-30

All of the Watchtower Society's early literature is available in most Kingdom Hall libraries as critics of Jehovah's Witnesses will often zero in on the early development of the organization for any flaws without taking into consideration the environment that surrounded Charles Taze Russell and his contemporaries. There's no reason to speak to opposers for their take on the early development of the organization and certain other matters. I for one acknowledge any flaws myself. There are opposers like "Six Screens" that are obvious hate campaigns and use sensational propaganda against Jehovah's Witnesses.

Spade, you still have unfinished business on the other thread, where you haven't yet answered the counter-arguments raised by TD, jonathon dough, me and others. You have totally ignored the examples I gave on this thread where prophecy wasn't literally fulfilled in every single detail.

The rest of your post comments on matters either not in dispute (that the people and places in the Bible you mentioned are historically true) or is mere repetition of the WTS'/your default position (which has already been challenged elsewhere). I also think a substantial part of your post was a quote from the WT literature, but it doesn't appear to have been credited.

Regarding Luke 21:23-24, Jesus was referring to the coming destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE and that it will be trampled on (future) for an appointed time by those conquering nations. This certainly happened.

The entire city was demolished, with only the towers of Herod's palace and a portion of the western wall left standing as evidence to later generations of the defensive strength that had availed nothing. Josephus remarks that, apart from these remnants, "the rest of the wall encompassing the city was so completely levelled to the ground as to leave future visitors to the spot no ground for believing that it had ever been inhabited." (The Jewish War, VII, 3, 4 [i, 1]) A relief on the Arch of Titus in Rome depicts Roman soldiers carrying off sacred vessels of the ruined temple.-Compare Mt 24:2; PICTURE, Vol. 2, p. 752.

The period of the Gentiles was domination over God's visible organization. The “trampling down by the Gentiles” started with the nation of natural Israel and ended with the restoration of God's visible organization.

Law Covenant. The Law covenant between Jehovah and the nation of natural Israel was made in the third month after their leaving Egypt, in 1513 B.C.E. (Ex 19:1) It was a national covenant. One born a natural Israelite was, by birth, in the Law covenant and was thus in this special relationship with Jehovah.

New Covenant. Jehovah foretold the new covenant by the prophet Jeremiah in the seventh century B.C.E., stating that it would not be like the Law covenant, which Israel broke. (Jer 31:31-34) On the night before his death, Nisan 14, 33 C.E., when he established the celebration of the Lord’s Evening Meal, Jesus Christ announced the new covenant, to be validated by his sacrifice. (Lu 22:20) On the 50th day from his resurrection and 10 days after he had ascended to his Father, he poured out the holy spirit, which he had received from Jehovah, on his disciples gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem.—Ac 2:1-4, 17, 33; 2Co 3:6, 8, 9; Heb 2:3, 4.

Jesus foretold that his teachings would be subverted so the restoration of God's visible organization was reserved for some future date: “The kingdom of the heavens has become like a man that sowed fine seed in his field. While men were sleeping, his enemy came and oversowed weeds in among the wheat, and left.” Surprisingly, when servants brought the evil deed to the man’s attention and asked for permission to collect the weeds, the man said: “No; that by no chance, while collecting the weeds, you uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest; and in the harvest season I will tell the reapers, First collect the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them up, then go to gathering the wheat into my storehouse.” Matthew 13:24-30.

Christendom's churches obviously didn't signify the restoration of God's visible organization. "The world's religions have . . . brought the horrors of human sacrifice, crusades, pogroms and inquisitions.” The "trampling" on true worship continued until 1914 C.E.

A short period of time was foretold between end of the appointed times of the nations (Jesus’ presence in Kingdom power), signs and portents that would be indicative of this and finally the end of the entire system of things.

On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.” Revelation 12:12

The anointed remnant, the 144,000 that were chosen after the Gentile Times had ended received their heavenly calling in 1919. The Bible contains and perfect and harmonious message from God that has application in our time that’s become clearer over the decades.

The first two techniques mentioned above have their merits, and they should not be neglected in reaching the Witness. Indeed, we need all the tools we can muster in reaching out to free them from mind control. Yet I believe that a person who is trying to reach Jehovah's Witnesses must truly understand the mindset of the person they are ministering to before they can set them free in many situations.

Although this is utterly false, apostates must make a complete admission that they were once brainwashed or controlled. This is sad and pathetic but they claim it's true according to their own words. Apostate psychology is really quite simple...

Beware, brothers, for fear there should ever develop in any one of you a wicked heart lacking faith by drawing away from the living God; but keep on exhorting one another each day, as long as it may be called “Today,” for fear any one of you should become hardened by the deceptive power of sin. Hebrews 3:12-13

If someone is truly an apostate that has become hardened by the deceptive power of sin, they now walk according to the system of things of this world and the desires of the flesh.

Furthermore, [it is] you [God made alive] though you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you at one time walked according to the system of things of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit that now operates in the sons of disobedience. Yes, among them we all at one time conducted ourselves in harmony with the desires of our flesh, doing the things willed by the flesh and the thoughts, and we were naturally children of wrath even as the rest. Ephesians 2:1-3

There's no chance they'll be freed from their condition. What they once believed in and revered has now become repugnant as their mental disposition has changed.

Certainly if, after having escaped from the defilements of the world by an accurate knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they get involved again with these very things and are overcome, the final conditions have become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them not to have accurately known the path of righteousness than after knowing it accurately to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them. The saying of the true proverb has happened to them: “The dog has returned to its own vomit, and the sow that was bathed to rolling in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:20-22

For it is impossible as regards those who have once for all been enlightened, and who have tasted the heavenly free gift, and who have become partakers of holy spirit, and who have tasted the fine word of God and powers of the coming system of things, but who have fallen away, to revive them again to repentance, because they impale the Son of God afresh for themselves and expose him to public shame. Just as ancient Babylon relied on her watery defenses, Babylon the Great today relies on her huge membership of “peoples and crowds and nations and tongues.” The angel appropriately draws our attention to these before telling of a shocking development: Political governments of this earth will turn violently upon Babylon the Great. What will all those “peoples and crowds and nations and tongues” do then? God’s people are already warning Babylon the Great that the water of the river Euphrates will dry up. (Revelation 16:12) Those waters will finally drain away completely. They will not be able to give the disgusting old harlot any effectual support in her hour of greatest need.—Isaiah 44:27; Jeremiah 50:38; 51:36, 37.
