  i got a messages fro donald d'haene who wrote father's touch about his experience with teh jws and his abuse.

  and was a member here - well still is although he no longer posts here.. here is the info.

  the oprah winfrey show is working on a program that will be specifically for men who were sexually abused as children.

  hi i am trying to find some links and or info please help!

  i need to keep my computer "clean" trying to fade and not get df'd.

  so i dont save or make files of things i read ect.. i am currenty needing to help my niece who is struggling witht the wt idea that the first century congregations are the model of how the our org today is run.

  I was interested in this as well and read books on early Chrisitianity and church history and I couldn't find any info on a "governing body" or anything like that.

  I understood how stupid this was when I read Carolyn Jessop's book. She grew up FLDS, and they didn't celebrate birthdays because it robbed the glory of the father in that household. I couldn't understand why a father would be jealous of his own child...and then I thought why on earth would God care or be jealous of us?

  YES! Growing up, I always had this panicky feeling that something wasn't right, or that something was missing. After I stopped going to the meetings, I felt like a normal person. I could finally live an authentic life.

  What do y'all do on your JW baptism anniversary?

  mine is 10/23.

  i used to use that day to ponder the state of my jw spirituality, make goals, feel guilty, etc.

  this is my first exjw baptism anniversary.. does anyone have any fun suggestions to commemorate an un-baptism?.

  I forgot about that date right after I got baptized! It means nothing to me, especially now, so I don't do anything special. I could watch a creepy video of me getting baptized that someone gave me, but that may bring back horrible memories.

  Maybe you could buy some Halloween candy or a costume just for fun? I love looking at all the costume stuff at the stores.

  i changed my religion to hindu... (it was a jooookkkkeee).it should not have mattered seen as i dont have any nosey dubs left on my friends list.. i then get a phonecall tonight from a 'sister' in the congregation askin if it was true that i was a hindu?!!!

  as i had it on my fb!!!

  i asked who had told her this and she said she did not want to say, but i told her she should have got the person who had the question to ask me that rather than going to her!!!!.
