That's where the Dubs would meet after service. I love the honey cruller donuts and timbits.

Tim Horton's
by Sic Semper Tyrannis ini have a question for my canadian friends here.
i go there often, and i see a tim hortons on pretty much every street, like mcdonalds is down here.
i've gone in to see what the fuss was all about, and all i saw were donuts and pastries i can find in every grocery store or gas station back home.

Soul Searching, need advice re: Physical Attraction
by Nice_Dream inok, so i was a young jw when i got married, and married a nice guy who was my first boyfriend.
i thought we had chemistry, but things weren't really working out in the sex department after we got married.
we had a pretty infrequent sex life for our whole realtionship...i'm talking months of dry spells.

Thank you for all the wonderful advice everyone. I'm not in OZ, or NZ, but that is interesting I sound similar to someone you know WOZ.
I guess another thing I question about our relationship, and have for the past 8 years, is that I don't feel we have an emotional connection. So that is something I need to figure out. He is a great guy and father, but I don't know anything about his feelings. But perhaps guys are just really closed off? He was more open when we were dating, and then seemed to have shut down as a person after that.
We've been trying to work on things now, and perhaps I'm just bitter because I wanted to work on things 6 years ago and wonder why he wants to fix things now that I'm apathetic. An honest discussion is definitely due, I just worry about his reaction, so perhaps it would be better to tell him at the counselors.
And thank you for the advice about attraction as well. I didn't sleep with that coworker, but I had never felt like that before and was confused.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely love my husband and don't want to give up on our marriage. Sometimes I just wonder what marriage should be like because I don't have any other relationships to compare ours too, but we do 'click.' He likes my lame jokes, puts up with my BS, and is the nicest guy I've ever met. I'll definitely keep up with the counseling and learn what I need to change to improve things as well.

Ok, so I was a young JW when I got married, and married a nice guy who was my first boyfriend. I thought we had chemistry, but things weren't really working out in the sex department after we got married. We had a pretty infrequent sex life for our whole realtionship...I'm talking months of dry spells. A few years after we married, I was really attracted to a coworker, and finally felt was sexual attraction was like and wasn't sure what to make of it.
My question: Does chemistry fade in time and it is better to be married to a friend? I feel like we don't really connect on an emotional level either...and I'm not sure if it's just me or if we're not super compatible. I don't like giving up on our marriage, and we've been going to counseling to work on things. I just wanted other people's opinions on what being married is all about.
Thanks!

Ooops! It looks like there is a convention in Edmonton too. I can't edit my other post.
Quarterback, have a nice visit with your friends.
Thanks for posting the link Blondie.

2012-06-22 at the Saddledome. It looks like that is the only convention in Alberta. You can check convention dates on JW.org, click the "lookup" tab.
The Calgary Stampede sounds like more fun to me!

To Vote or Not To Vote... that is the question.
by harleybear inas we all know voting or any political involvement is a big bad no no in the jw org.
i actually have been a registered voter since i was 18 and was still in the org.
obviously i kept that very quiet until i made my break from the org.

I live in Canada, and I'm not a registered voter because I'm afraid of jury duty, and I believe you are eligible for that if you register to vote. I know so many people who have been called for jury duty multiple times and have been sequestered, so that is a major deterrent.
With that aside, if I could vote without the possibilty of jury duty I definitely would. As a witness growing up, I tuned out politics and thought it was boring. But I would like to be more involved in the community.
