I'm married to an INTP. That type is pretty rare, around 1% of the population.

My beliefs have evolved rapidly over the past couple years. I no longer believe the stories in the Bible are 100% accurate; however, I still find comfort reading some of the scriptures and believe the message of love from the NT is a good one. Although my beliefs have been dismantled through reading many of the thought provoking threads on this site, I am now making my own personal belief system up, which is incredibly freeing.
I also think spirituality is very personal, like art. Different pieces speak to different people, and we cannot force our own belief or disbelief on others. But we can appreciate the beauty and truth certain pieces bring to our lives.

Londo 111, I can totally relate to your feelings about field service. My parents fortunately rarely dragged me out in the ministry as a child, but after I got married, (thanks to his upbringing) my spouse was the type that went out every Saturday, no questions asked. I felt so depressed, and dreaded the weekends. It would really bother me when a householder yelled at us or treated us badly. I felt sorry for my husband who is also shy and was treated poorly at the doors. I wished that we had an alternate service too, where we could really help people, like work at the food bank, or volunteer.
In my area, people were very pleasant if there was a child at the door, they would take the magazines from them and be friendly. I know sometimes people can be rude even to children, which is sad. When I was 4, we went to a wealthy neighborhood on service and the woman threatened me and my Dad off her property with a gun! I couldn't understand why we were so bad that she would say something like that.
Are INFPs more sensitive to noise than others? I'm also a Type 4 on the Enneagram. I remember sometimes I would feel anxious at the convention because of the swarms of people and noise. I just wanted to get outside away from it all. Being a Witness and having social anxiety or just being shy certainly was not a fun way to grow up. At least we're out now!

Young People Ask . . . March 2012 Awake
by sizemik ini read very little wts propaganda these days, even on-line stuff .
unless it's for a specific purpose.
most of you will identify with that.. i perused this article while checking out something else and was disturbed by the manipulative reasoning directed at jw youths.

Wasn't there a song in the previous songbook with a line about not being popular? Anyone remember that one?
I found it, "But to be popular never do toil, for bad companions good habits will spoil." Ah, the memories...

Should we attend our first Birthday Party?
by Flicka inso we have only been fading for the past few months but already made up our minds that we are completely out.
we never managed to make any friends in our cong but we befriended our neighbours.. so our neighbour invited us to her b-day party in a few weeks time.
she knows that we are/were witnesses and that we are fading.. i don't see a b-day celebration as being wrong anymore.

We went to a neighbourhood child's birthday party and no JW noticed or said anything (even though an elder's family lives only a few houses up from them). The party was indoors, so it wasn't like we were on the front lawn for everyone to see.
We decided to drive to the home (even though it is just a few houses up from us) because the JWs were out in service that morning on our street...and we didn't want to be seen walking down the street with a Princess party gift bag.
An elder also knocked on our door as we were just about to leave. I didn't view it as a "sign" that I shouldn't go or anything. It is what it is.
Have fun if you decide to go! I'm not sure how likely it will be for anyone to find out you went or not. I'm at the point now where I don't care if I'm outed, but I definitely understand the fear and have been there.

Did the "Truth" really have the "Ring Of Truth"?
by ssn587 inwhen we were initially taken in by the supposed ring of truth that the watchtower espoused, we came to find out that in reality the supposed ring of truth was actually handcuffs and prison garb.
once they have you there is no way of leaving without them shooting at you trying to kill you with viturpretive (spelling) mouthings, slander, and a complete absence of human feelings..

OTWO - "Looking back, I’ve made some realizations. The WatchTower organization told me they had all the answers to the questions I was asking. The problem was that they provided the wrong questions. They told me I was seeking a deeper spiritual truth when all I really sought was an ordinary truth. I hadn’t actually started pondering, “Where does life originally come from and where are we going after this life? I simply wanted to know, “Who am I?”
Wow! That was amazingly put OTWO, that is so true. You made me have an epiphany.
