JW's really know how to throw the "fear" game around to scare everyone. Just to keep them coming back to the meetings. Growing up I never really believed in Armegedon. To me it just sounded like a made up thing the JW's did to keep all of us scared s#!&less. I can't live in fear anymore.
I believe that something terrible will happen, but it will be man made. The terrorist are nuts and anything could happen.
i've been watching the bio channel lately and hearing people relate their stories of ghosts and the supernatural.. although i think some people do experience demonic presences, i think some people (for whatever reason) find it difficult to move on.
jws believe everything is caused by "demons," but there are many near death experiences where people clearly seem to see family members who have helped them and who have manifested themselves with feelings of peace and serenity.
since i don't believe that satan can duplicate these feelings of well being, i was wondering what you think of such manifestations, good or bad.. also, have you ever had any experiences, again, good or bad, in your lives?

Yes, I believe in spirits. In my opinion I believe we have good people and bad people living on the earth today and when they pass away they are either good spirits or bad spirits depending on how they lived their life. I can't imagine a rapist dying and being a good spirit, if he was to come back he'd probably be angry. Something to think about. I totally believe because a lot of things happened to me while growing up in my mothers home that was extremely obvious and not the wind blowing or sounds of a mouse. I've had so many things happen at her home, at my job (work in a hospital) that I can't even explain them all on here.
I also know that a lot of people do not fully understand if it hasn't happened to them. Some people feel it's imagination or your just plain nuts. But how can you explain something that happened and your not alone? For instance, once at work I was with a co-worker and we were in a closed part of the hospital all alone and heard a woman make a sound to us. While we were talking to each other, we paused, and this spirit said: "Yeah" like in agreement of what we were talking about. We both looked in the direction it came from, we walked over to see if anyone was playing a game on us and no one was around. We both heard it. We were together. That can't be explained. But it happened to us.

That was always my mothers explanation for everything that happened. So I grew up in fear because of her religious beliefs. So I learned early in life that she is not someone that I could talk to about this type of thing. So I kept it all inside. One day many, many years later I was at my sisters house (she's a lot older than me and while I was growing up I was the only kid in the house). This subject came up and she told me her experiences in the home and after she left. My god, I almost fell off the chair because now I was finally not alone.
I love watching Psychic Kids-Children of the paranormal (I can relate to a lot of these kids); Paranormal State; Ghost Hunters etc.
somedays my dad would look at what i still call an older woman, and he'd call her attractive.
i'd look at him like dude your nuts.
i'm thinking just cuz your older doesn't mean its wrong to find younger women attractive.

I'm 38 years old and since I hit my 30's I've had guys in the 20's hittin' on me. I don't feel 38. I physically feel 20ish but mentally I feel mature. Don't get me wrong, 38 isn't old. At first, I was like "whatever" but geez I'm thinking that it's experience or something (you know what I mean). I've always been thick/skinny (not boney) around size 8 but in the last 1 1/2 year I gained about 15 pounds and feeling a bit irritated by it, but it doesn't seem to matter to these guys. I think it's funny. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not bragging. It's just something I've noticed, my hubby has noticed too. hehehehe
At work we have these horrible uniforms that we have to wear. It makes anyone with a good butt look flat and wide. Just look at the McDonalds uniforms. lol but I work in a hospital and I was at work walking to our department (down a hallway) and met up with other employees that I work with and they were talking about younger guys liking older women and I mentioned that I think it's kind of flattering in a way, and one of the guys looked at me and said "It's cause your hot." I totally blushed. I still get think it's nice, sometimes it's nice to hear. But I have often wondered why some younger men like older women.
After reading some of these I suppose I know why....hummm
those who have lived with the opposite sex know of the frustration of being lectured about some triviality.. the toilet seat/paper controversy is among the most inflammatory.. men who forget to put the toilet seat back down inspire anger, rage, resentment and the stern lecture.. the easiest solution is to train the man to always sit down when he goes.. .
others argue over the direction of the toilet paper: forward overlap or backward underlap.. .
how do you deal with these issues and how violent do you become?.
To me and my hubby, we think it's a sanitary thing. We prefer the toilet seat down. We can't stand walking into a bathroom and the lid is open. To us, it just looks gross. Most of my family does this except for my sister and her three kids, they always leave the lid open, yuck. Funny because a while ago some friends of ours were talking to us about that and they also agreed it looks better with the lid down. lol.
I remember when I first started dating my hubby and I walked into our bedroom and he was using the restroom and he was sitting down. I thought he was going #2 but he was going #1. I asked why and he said "sometimes it's nice to sit down." lol. I have never seen a guy do that but it's pretty common apparently.
I prefer the toilet paper to come forward overlap. I think it rolls out eaiser and smoother. Although my hubby doesn't care which direction the tp goes but he does it my way because he knows thats what I prefer. lol. You'd be amazed how many people have the tp backward underlap. I work at a hospital and sometimes it's impossible to grab the tp when it's backward underlap. Yikes. lol

That's the elders at our old hall. They thought they were god. Once They told me I could not bring a backpack to the meetings because it looked "worldly." When I explained that "It is just a bag, it holds my notebooks, bible, pencils I don't see the big deal." They said "It's in your best interst to change bags think of the congregation and how it looks." I never changed bags, they did not know I was broke and could not afford to buy anything "extra." Funny thing is that one of the elders wife gave it to me and thought I'd like it. At the time, I was grateful. Lol. Crazy mixed up world we live in. Nuts....Yeah this is the usual steps I have to follow in order to login. lol. I know what you mean, I'm totally tired of it too. I usually have to login, expect to see this message every time, hit the back button once, then I have to re-enter my info only then it lets me in.
i've never celebrated halloween but i know what candy i would have wanted.
hershey bars, reese's cups, peppermint patties.. the worst for me would be mary janes, squirrels, any maple flavoured candies.
sometimes the expensive, exotic candies are the worst!

since i've been out of the jw religion, i've had no desire to attend any churches.
although i've always liked the way many churches look with the (stained glass, etc).

I agree serenitynow. I have a very physical job and my legs were killing me anyway. I said "Forget it" and sat down and watched everyone else. My hubby and I were giggling quietly.
