Tonight's Meeting

during tonight's meeting the brother seemed to read out something along the lines of "you may be helping a poor sister who you think may be struggling, but in turn that sister may be getting financial assistance from the government.

it is always best to stick to jehovah's arrangement in these matters so that help can get to those who most need it, including the worldwide work".

i think it may have been an article about social media platforms initially and how they should be avoided and then this was mentioned.

Received a letter from a JW today.

it started off as "dear friend ,as one of your neighbours" , however the postmark on the letter was from 2 townships away ?

a good twenty minute car drive away .a minor point i know.

it goes on about how she is concerned about the effects that current events are having on the welfare of the community and the corona-virus has prevented her from discussing the issues personally with me.. she then goes on to state and quote jeremiah 29:11 and then goes on to say "for more information about this promise and other questions like :.

What Is The Position Of Witnesses For People Who Are Inactive And Don’t Want To Be Bothered By Anyone?

i used to have some close friends simply pay me a friendly visit or call to see how i was doing.. i am curious as to whether or not the society instructed witnesses to no longer check on inactive ones and treat them as marked or disfellowshipped..

I would also add that the rules for shunning are a form of coercion to keep other JW's away from any sort of contact with DF or DA members who left for any reason........... in particular those who wanted freedom from this desperate, mistaken and nasty religion.

Keep the sheep separated and demonstrate how they in turn would be treated by their family and friends.....if they strayed.

So What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Do Now?

In my opinion it's collapsing. Only the diehards will cling to these stupid beliefs, older people who gave up clear reasoning, education, science and abandoned close family members who dropped out. Which is how a JW shows their family love. Will still stick.

Everyone else is leaving. Making new plans looking into at home college or business options.

Many have lost their Kingdom Halls......... Halls that they helped build and financially gave generously to keeping the building in tact, What was once a proud KH is now a drive by liquor store or dry cleaners.

What does it feel like to drive past our old KH that we were married in or brought our children to and it's been turned into a 7/11?

The Society lives in good substantial (Head Quarters and or Branch buildings) that provide for all of their needs.

Their older followers are working two jobs to make a living cause they were discouraged from getting higher education. Those who are let go from headquarters or the Branch may not be eligible for Medicare or Social Security.

When did we realize we were taking advice from Elders who were for the most part under educated tools?

This is the problem people are coming to understand. Being a JW is a mistake. It could cost you your life.You have a made up god who shows no real interest in the JW's. He was invented by Russell and brought all of the traits of the 19th century.

Let me explain it to you this way: The JW Hospital Liaison Committee who visits you in the hospital to warn you about not accepting a blood transfusion are the same guys two days later who are outside washing the hospital windows.

This is as true as I can make it.

also, i had thought about past watchtower articles or publications related to this topic and did some research and found this from our readers ask if adam was perfect, how was it possible for him to sin?.

well, then, did god create adam with a moral weakness, so that he lacked the ability to make sound decisions or to withstand temptation?

A decent religion needs to be focused on the needs of humanity. Education, good health, food and shelter and a reasonable ethical balance. We lift each other up, we make people accountable, we care for one another if their is a god in this..... He, She and/or IT has never shown up. We humans show up.

i truly want to find a woman who knows jehovah's name and worships him.

He/She/It decided to drown that world and everything in it. Every man, women, child and the un born children died if you believe the account of the great Flood. Thankfully it was all made up B.S.

I did my pioneer service in a small rural congregation that had only one brother, who was the Presiding Minister.....this was back in 1960.

Since I had a one hour talk he needed me desperately to 'pay back' other congregations in the circuit who had provided their 'male only' speakers for the Sunday public talk. It wasn't as if I was special or very good at what was asked of me it was my achievement of being a male.

Looking back this was feminine racism which was practiced by any number of religions at the time and is still practiced within the religious community.

So we were the only two brothers in this small congregation. There was no other brother willing to serve. The rest were women and children. By default I became the assistant presiding minister .......... the Kingdom Hall School servant ........ the book room servant all at the age of 19. If we could have appointed sisters to these positions we would have been in better shape.

I soon became keenly aware that a number of these sisters were highly proficient in the door to door service. Two were special pioneers (150 service hours per month) and a couple of others were regular 100 hour per month pioneers. All were dedicated to going out in field service and conducting bible studies.

I became the field service servant. It became very understandable to me that if there was going to be an increase in attendance....... it was going to be caused by these sisters. As it was throughout the congregations world wise in that era and in that matter it sill is.

With rare exception the men were pretty much worthless in getting bible studies. They were too busy working to put food on the table and pay the bills. Their door to door service probably caused more harm then good.

Thinking back we had a cadre of highly qualified sisters who couldn't be used in any position of authority. What a waste of a resource that was. What a waste of a gift.
