Did you feel contempt for Non Witnesses

the other day i went to this farm owned by this jw lady with my wife being a jw and my mother being a non witness.

later taking to my mother she noticed this vibe like this jw lady really hated her.

she just had these little slags like when we tried to pay for the fruit we picked , she looked directly at my wife and said " don't worry about it, i only charge wordly people ".. i also have this aunt who is a jw we are estranged from.

The JW's have always been a tribe.......... they called themselves "the friends" international bible students who had a particular fondness for Russell this 'friends' thingy started back in Russell's day. He depended on 'the friends' for lodging, food and providing a speaking hall. Those that bought into his ideas helped out when he was on the road.

They provided the transition that allowed the Society to become a religion or one might say a tribe. Of course it took to 1940 to formalize the religion. Rutherford screwed up everything........ what a tool..

The friends were continued to be called by that name and it is still used. The meaning is similar to how the Mafia greets some people.

From the movie Donny Brisco....... A 'made man' tells his new recruit. "If I tell them 'your a friend' they know your not a member. If I tell them your our friend they know your a member."

Hatred is a part of those JWs who came to maturity in the 1950's. Held strong in the 1960's, fought for 1975 then in 1980 they changed gears and showed their real hatred for those who DA and dropped out....... the friends held strong to that name .....they saw the real 'truth' and they were assured they had a relationship with Jehovah, funny not so much with Jesus, but it gets crowded when your tribe has versions of the truth.

Being a part of the only true religion can be a burden.

Well there is one thing we can understand with JW tribalism is that hating........ is their pathway to everlasting life.

I Dont Want My JW Family To Wake Up

it's come to the point now, after being out almost 5 years, that i've come too far with my life, acheived the things i wanted (or i'm on the road to), did the things i wanted to do and have reached a happy and satisfactory life.. i did all this on my own apart from exjws such as yourselves online for support.

after reaching a place where i finally dont think about wt everyday and stopped getting emotional or worked up about my former jw life i'm glad to simply live my life and let others get on with theirs.. but, if my family were to leave and get in touch i'd have to deal with all that shit again.

i'd have to deal with people who's personality i deliberately removed from my life as i was building an authentic nonjw life.. my mother would likely still be closed minded and homophobic.. my sisters would likely still live for gossip and social media stalking.. my cousins would likely still put on a pretence of wealth to impress those around them.. i really cant be doing with such people.. it sounds bad, but i really hope they stay in.

When my wife and I left in the mid 1960's ....you just left. There was no punishment for becoming disassociated. No standing shunning rules unless you were DF.

We discussed our feelings with close family members. Most couldn't grasp the issues we discussed. They really didn't want to know.

Many family members understood what bothered us about the WTBTS. Eventually as time passed those family relationships became less and less interested in us. We returned the favor. Over the years the religion became harsher with ex JW's.

At some point in time the Society encouraged shunning one and all who separated from the religion no matter if they had sinned or simply no longer wanted to partake.

Our policy was to shun those who shunned us.

We have outlived our JW parents, Aunts, and all but two JW cousins. Both of whom have elected to shun us over their life time.

One cousin was born 7 years after we had left the JW's. She's totally living in shunsville. The other could not exist if he got tossed out of Bethel.

We have our own family complete with grand kids. We Celebrate the holidays and birthdays, have a Sunday dinner tradition. And I don't think about the two remaining family at all.

Shunning and who does it?

only the most gross and controlling religions shun...... it's a tool for coercing someone to shut up and go along or lose contact with friends and family.. they often don't know why they have to shun a family member or a friend just that they are compelled to do so or suffer the same punishment.......... that's a criminal act by the way........ it's coercion.

coercion means you are being forced to act in a certain way where you would normally not be inclined to act in that manner.. "family estrangement is the norm in jehovah's witness families.

every jehovah's witness suffers from shunning - either you're being shunned, or you have to shun.

The Church of Scientology?? that's a mighty powerful bunch of fine Christians except they aren't Christians.

What about not believing a so called Truth? 1975? If you spoke out against this doctrine you would still be DF or DA.

No blood except you can have all the blood fractions you might need.
The brother caught smoking banned for life. Not the brother who is a glutton or drinks a lot or even a child molester.
Why being a JW is both dangerous and dumb.

Flu Vaccine Now REQUIRED For All Students Going To School In Massachusetts

this is a requirement now in massachusetts.

children must get a flu shot by december 31. some allowances are made for religious reasons and health reasons.. personally, i don’t agree with the government making this mandatory.. what is your opinion?

As was mentioned earlier, it’s your body. You want to eat a McDonald’s burger, that’s your business. Don’t tell me I can’t have one. If I want to drink a soda or whole cow milk, it’s my decision not yours!!!"

No one is telling you to wear a mask in your empty car nor wash your hands every 15 minutes. No one can prevent you from doing dumb things like not washing or sanatizing your hands if you have been in contact with people or situations that call for some restraint.

You want to eat a Mc D's Burger? Eat one for god's sake! They are open for business aren't they......so what's your issue?

Listening to you have a meltdown and sharing goofy shit is not pleasant. Take a break...... we can get along without your attitude....just fine.

Tonight's Meeting

during tonight's meeting the brother seemed to read out something along the lines of "you may be helping a poor sister who you think may be struggling, but in turn that sister may be getting financial assistance from the government.

it is always best to stick to jehovah's arrangement in these matters so that help can get to those who most need it, including the worldwide work".

i think it may have been an article about social media platforms initially and how they should be avoided and then this was mentioned.

Received a letter from a JW today.

it started off as "dear friend ,as one of your neighbours" , however the postmark on the letter was from 2 townships away ?

a good twenty minute car drive away .a minor point i know.

it goes on about how she is concerned about the effects that current events are having on the welfare of the community and the corona-virus has prevented her from discussing the issues personally with me.. she then goes on to state and quote jeremiah 29:11 and then goes on to say "for more information about this promise and other questions like :.

jwfacts makes an excellent point. She lives in a community and she needs to respect the needs of her local community and lend a helping hand if she can.

What Is The Position Of Witnesses For People Who Are Inactive And Don’t Want To Be Bothered By Anyone?

i used to have some close friends simply pay me a friendly visit or call to see how i was doing.. i am curious as to whether or not the society instructed witnesses to no longer check on inactive ones and treat them as marked or disfellowshipped..

I would also add that the rules for shunning are a form of coercion to keep other JW's away from any sort of contact with DF or DA members who left for any reason........... in particular those who wanted freedom from this desperate, mistaken and nasty religion.

Keep the sheep separated and demonstrate how they in turn would be treated by their family and friends.....if they strayed.
