  Armageddon, god's bad idea

  since i am free to speculate, something witnesses have been discouraged from doing, i decided to try to determine if the society and the jw's understand what armageddon will involve if it really was to happen.

  of course keep in mind that jesus never mentioned it..........sooo.. let's start with a comparison of the wtbts approach to armageddon and the bibles account of the flood, ........ the first time god decided to destroy the world, or at least the first time we know about, and compare what noah and his family did to get ready and what the society is telling their rank and file.. the account of noah and the flood is filled with practical information on how to survive a really big inconvenience.

  preparation was the key for survival.

  after 40 years I guess I am being shunned

  well thanks to this site i have come to realize i am being shunned........i think.

  i find this really funny because my wife and i were never df or da, and we walked out in the late 1960's.

  and no one in the family ever shunned us.. without making too much out of it my niece has not invited us to visit and meet our new nephew.

  for individuals who are solely interested in the truth, it has become extremely important to research non-partisan media outlets and fact-checking organizations that consistently lay out the facts without unnecessary sensationalism and bias.

  effective engagement in politics requires the truth about all aspects of public policies and an honest assessment of a presidents accomplishments and weaknesses".

  The Governing Body is on the Phone and they need Help!

  here's my premise; one day, out of the blue, you are asked to consult with the gb.

  your told that they have 'new light', armageddon is a spiritual battle and they have 'awakened' to the fact that this system of things will not be going away anytime soon, perhaps not for another 2,000 years!

  with this new understanding they realize that just about everything is going to have to change if they want to survive as an organization.. to deal with this new reality now and into the future they would like to hear ideas that are practical, spiritual, nurturing, helpful and stimulating.. .

  i went to the biblical research & commentary international that mouthy mentioned in the "i stopped going to the kingdom hall" thread and clicked on a time magazine article which covered raymond franz's story.. .

  in the article on page 2 it mentioned "as a refugee from bethel and his life's work, he found himself with few marketable skills, a $10,000 settlement from headquarters and $600 in personal savings.

  frank was concerned that they might be dumping them in the woods or something so he wanted me to check it out.. i had a hard time convincing h and h to let me join them in service, finally i dropped a few hints that i was a pretty laid back brother who didn't always follow wtbts policy......... which wasn't far from the truth.

  the jws need one more category of witness............ a jehovah's bystander!

  they're like the witnesses, only they dont want or have to get involved.

  i know it's an oxymoron but think of all the problems that would solve.. .

  Is exposing young children to religion a form of child abuse?

  is religious indoctrination an assault on children, an assault on their capacity for individuation, curiosity, self-validation, and critical thinking skills?.

  can a child with no religious training and traditions and no religious rules grow up to be an ethical person?.
