Barbara's comments
Under the Victorian State Charter of Human Rights, "religious belief" the WTS and JW teach that there is at least one resurrected member of the FDS in Heaven per every congregation worldwide. By having the FDS charged, this allows the State Government to seize every single Kingdom Hall in the world. How? By hiding behind the religion the WTS has created a sanctimonious front and attributed everything to the FDS. Therefore the FDS are at fault.
The Governing Body operates in Victoria as they sign their "person" name on the inside of many books which are distributed in Victoria, Australia.
Thanks Barbara for your comments as it does help to make things clearer. I am also starting to understand why his submission was so hard to follow but he was obviously trying to cover all basis.
I have never before heard the claim that there is at least one resurrected member of the FDS in heavern per every congregation worldwide. Is this written somewhere by the JWs?
Also, I have read that the GB signed bibles when visiting a country and provided the dignatories with them but are they also putting a personal signature in some of their books that they have distributed?
so during my research on the wts, i stubled across a link to the july 15th watchtower.. .

i'm assuming that the study editions are the ones that they only give to members/ those who attend meetings.. .
Isn't it ironic that the first main article declares the Court decision stated they do not break up families and then the final article discusses the rejection of a parent's only child. They must be laughing over the fact that they were able to fool the courts.
i wake up thinking: what if my boyfriend and i die a terrifying death during armageddon?
with no hope of any life afterwards?.
do any of you ever feel that way?.

outsmart - you keep mentioning the imperfections of the elders....and how people need to overlook them because we are all imperfect and we need to learn what true humility is.....etc etc.
dj - if this is what you believe to be true, then you are mistaken, because even though jehovah's witnesses are directed by holy spirit, we have at times 'gotten it wrong.
dj - i can agree that jehovah's witnesses are god's mouthpiece today, that we do speak for god.

Jehovah's Witnesses endeavor to preach what things God's word urges all mankind to consider before the end of the system of things arrives, such as the importance of their becoming reconciled with God through Christ by exercising faith in his name as Redeemer, and getting baptized, apart from which no one will be saved. (Mark 16:16)
Yes they do and so do other religions however they go beyond that teaching and interpret the bible as they see it and declare they only they have the truth.
They self proclaim that the third trumpet was blown in 1925 and declare what the message was and as demonstrated from the quotes above, included a false message. Yet the blowing of the third trumpet was done by an angel and so the message should not have been partly false. In this instance there can be no excuse for 'the light getting brighter' or that it was mans error.
As they were the only ones blowing the trumpet at this time and that message was partly false then one can only conclude that the sounding of the trumpet did not occur then. They still hold on to this teaching today, that all the trumpets began to be blown around that decade.

Wow, that is a very interesting The Finger. I wonder how many of the other trumpets that were supposedly sounded were also giving wrong messages.
As you point out they were sounded by an Angel, one wouldn't expect the message to be partially wrong.

Thanks for explaining Barbara. The written word can be easily misinterpreted so I apologize for that also. You are right to refer to the WT literature because they at times seem to get so much joy out of proclaiming death and destruction, such a deadly horror awaiting and at times they get so much pleasure in proclaiming it.

It is very sad to see encouragement in getting 'pleasure' out of reading stuff like that even though it does have a great deal of other benefits.
