You make some very valid points.
I wonder if such a change would make many JWs realize that the GB were the ones who instructed them to reject Jesus at the memorial, surely they could never trust them again.
the new light is a bit of give and take by the gb.
they have taken upon themselves the title of the faithful and discreet slave, in exchange for pushing the 'appointment over all of his [christ's] belongings' out into the future, and also in exchange for allowing the earthly class to be counted as 'domestics'.
the gb can now totally lord it as kings over the flock in exchange for having "dignified" them by including them as domestics.

in 1976, my friend bruce price was in contact with jehovahs witnesses who had become disillusioned through the debacle with 1975. bruce was the leading voice among the sda ministry in working for jws.
at the time, i was a member of the sda church.
although i left them about 25 years ago, to this day bruce and i enjoy a strong and genuinely warm friendship.. so, in 1976 bruce invited me to a meeting with one of the jws who was leading the disquiet in his congregation in dandenong (victoria, australia).
Does anyone have any further information? The link no longer works.
i've just been watching a youtube video that reveals the new assembly hall in orangeburg, sc.. two things struck me when watching it.... firstly, everything is attributed to jehovah, right down to deciding the location where the hall is to be built.
"we examined over 300 properties," said one interviewee, "we were reminded that jehovah knew where the site was, we just had to keep looking and show him that we were persistent.
" other workers interviewed throughout the video attribute everything to god, as though it is impossible to build anything without divine direction.. here is the video.... .
At a guess they must have known that it was being talked about here. They must have realized just how embarassing their video was.
so about a week ago, i showed my cousin & her husband [an elder in our congregation] the picture on pg 29 of our 4/15/2013 study wt and asked, "if jesus is head of the congregation then where is he?".
after several minutes of searching, dead silence.. i then asked if they had heard the part on the 2012 summer district conv the part about "our spiritual mother, where the c.o said that "the bible by itself does not shine thru as life-giving truths just by itself.
" they were shocked and said that i must have misheard it because that would be apostasy.
Oh, I just figured it out - he's invisible.
what are the belongings that jesus comes back for.
apparently, we were told by one of the elders at bethel who was at the annual meeting in october that the organisation was still not too sure on what those belongings are and that it would be public down the road in their publications.
they figure it would come out in the april watchtower.
If this was discussed at the annual meeting then it is likely to be the belongings in Matthew 24:47 - FDS.
Silly things is that they once knew what the belongings were, now they say they don't. Even worse, if they couldn't work out what his belongings were when they gave the talk about new light regarding the FDS then their ideas were only 'half baked'.
i read in a forum in spanish that there is a strong rumor spreading in the corridors of the wt.
has anyone heard anything about this??
the change that is emerging is this: the great crowd has not yet appeared, and it is a group that comes out of the great tribulation.
Thanks Prologos and EdenOne, I will study this more. Already I've come across a magnificant article written by Leolia that discusses this

Eden One you are right in that the GC do acknowledge their salvation to God and Jesus and they do this after they have come out of the GT. It is not surprising that they would rightly do so, any of us who were still in existence after the GT would attribute this to God and Jesus, they are grateful and serve him day and night. Perhaps these are lucky ones who have not been caught in the pre destruction phase who were given the opportunity of proving their faithfullness during that time.
From my understanding at the start of the GT there is a lot of death and destruction and this is not done by God, it isn't until the angels who are holding back the four winds release them which is after the 144,000 are sealed that God causes the final destruction to occur. If the Great Crowd is not the 144,000/sealed ones then there has been no specific efforts to ensure they are saved.
If we are to believe the org in saying that the Great Crowd are not the 144,000 then they were never 'sealed' which is what is being done to the 144,000 to ensure their salvation and protection. Because they have not been given this protection there may be many faithful ones who do not survive Armageddon as Satan will be part of this war and trying to cause as much devastation as possible.

It would seem that by their 'nitpicking' (after all they wrote that 1995 article to discuss the issue) they are distracting the JWs from what Revelation actually discusses about this great crowd.
The great crowd is not saved at all, rather they are ones who have survived the GT. They are given no specific protection or any promise that they will be selected to be saved. However, the org. then determines that only those rendering sacred service now will have any chance of survival and Revelation only discusses the fact that they are currently (after surviving the GT) rendering service day and night
WT 4/15/95 Revelation 7:14: “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation.” So the “great crowd” is composed of those who come out of, or survive, the great tribulation. As verse 17 says, they will be ‘guided to fountains of waters of life’ on earth.
Understandably, though, for these to survive the approaching great tribulation, they must earlier have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb
, becoming true worshipers. Hence, though Revelation 7:9 is describing this crowd after the tribulation, we may apply the term “great crowd” to all with
earthly hopes who are rendering Jehovah sacred service now, just before the great tribulation breaks out with the nations’ attack on false religion.
i dont' use my cell phone when with friends, to show them how important they are to me, and i am focusing on them, etc.
i turn it off completely.. i'm doing a free bible study with 2 really nice jw ladies.
but today, one of their phones went off loudly twice, and she had to check each time who it was etc.
Sorry to say but it might just be you, I think they are looking for diversions.

good day...so this is the conversation i had with a co-worker of mine i mentioned in an earlier thread...shes a jw and doesnt know that i was associated with the jws before and that im a fader.
This is typically a JW notion and happens to be very offensive -
JW co-worker: Well, people are imperfect, and the difference with JW’s are that we take stuff like that very serious.
I would ask her how do they take it more seriously than others.
