Another Lie - Watchtower December 2013

i just thought i would have another look at the december 2013 watchtower in light of the agm tommorrow.

slimboyfat had pointed out that even though there is a whole study article on the memorial, there is not one mention of the 144,000 (by number) and it may become new light that the number is no longer literal.. anway i came across this bold outright lie.

Anway I came across this bold outright lie

Page 22 para 4

"4. No doubt you will be present for the one event

that Jesus said his followers should commemorate

annually."

Nowhere in the bible does it say that Jesus instructed his followers to commemorate the Lord's evening meal once a year.

Why would they make such a claim? This Watchtower is even weirder than normal. It goes into great depth about the importance of the date the memorial is held on.

Anyway, back to this idea of the 144,000 no longer being literal. There is this statement made

One is the hope of reigning with

Christ in heaven, the hope entertained

by a relatively small number of Christ’s

followers, such as the faithful apostles.

(Luke 12:32; 22:19, 20; Rev. 14:1"

Notice that even thought they have quoted Revelation 14:1 which talks about 144,000, they have defined this as simply being a relatively small number.

Talk out loud in public places...new preaching method? And go bags..

i have been told of two things i had not heard of before.. one is a new preaching method, going to public places in a group e.g.

a cafe, and then talking of the topic quite loudly, for example maybe studying a watchtower or a chapter in a publication.

the idea being that people listen in and enquire etc etc.

Are you told to take these go bags everywhere, such as leaving them in your car or are they left at home?

No. 4 - a seed construction project?

If this is true, it sounds like they are planning to provide seeds for the poorer countries, they'll surely have to become involved in a lot of politics if they do this and they'll be competing against multi national businessess that currently sell their seeds to poor countries.

No doubt, given the title of the talks that will speed things up one way or the other.

Head coverings yet again in the latest KM

my husband just gave me the latest km the novermber 2013 and it yet again has a question box on head coverings.. question box "should a female publisher wear a head covering if she is accompanied by a male pubisher at a doorstep bible study?".

it says "when a female publisher conducts a reagular, scheduled bible study and a male kingdom publisher is present, she should wear a head covering.

(1 cor 11: 3-10) the july 15 2002, issue of the watchtower page 27, explains: "this is a prearranged session of teaching where the one conducting the the study actually presides.

It is very telling when they consider it more important to determine whether a female should wear a headcovering than even thinking about when it is appropriate to start opening and closing a bible study with a prayer.

Maybe that would be just too embarassing for brothers to contemplete at a householders doorstep.

mine have, and they're generic.. greetings, friends.. a couple days ago i went to pick up my meds at k-mart (california, usa).

i had $5.00, the discounted price, in hand.

the assistant rang me up for $27 and change.

It's not the NPS but it is the PBS and for those not on Health Care Card/Pension Card most scripts are capped at $36.10 and those with the Health/Pension card it is capped at $5.90

This is a very interesting read.

It really highlights just a typical bunch of men and how they try to excuse themselves. Using an old video (and out of context) to suggest that they (and everone else) didn't know the serious nature of child abuse back 20 years ago.

According to you, this holy spirit that comes upon the JW anointed is very powerful, so much so that a person undeniably feels they are going to heaven. But when it comes to understanding the truth the holy spirit is unable to communciate in the same manner so that the anointed one has an undeniable certainty about God's word.

But thanks nobodyofconcern for bringing this thread to the attention of readers. The opening post was excellant and brings so much realism to this idea of being anointed.

some interesting quotes.... while it is wise not to believe everything we read in the news, it does not follow that there is nothing we can trust.
