They may have realized just how inappropriate the song was. You don't sing songs of praises to yourself during a religious service. -

"i must confess, however, that when i first learned the truth, i was not very tactful...".

I wonder why these guys never talk about being anointed. Immortal heavenly life as rulers would have to be the greatest blessings they have received.
As I look back on my life, I deeply appreciate that Jehovah has always taken care of me. For example, the very day Jim found out that I was living out of my car, he put me in contact with a sister who owned a boarding house. I truly believe that Jehovah used Jim and that dear sister to provide a nice place for me to stay. Jehovah is so kind! He takes care of his faithful worshippers.
This deluded fellow thinks that God arranged everything for him to have a nice place to live, whilst a war was till raging on with children being slaughtered. I love that phrase that JWs say "I truly believe" which really just means that I have convinced myself.
More delusion is evident when he speaks about his soon to be wife studying a secondary Watchtower article and believing that this proved she was a spiritual person. But his words about loving his precious wife fall flat when he starts talking about her dislike to flying but makes her do it anyway.
Susan says that comments from other wives of Governing Body members, given in a loving way, have helped her to be determined to support me as much as possible. She certainly has done that, and I love her for it.
This comment irks me on so many levels. He makes is sound that his wife Susan doesn't have any other female friends and certainly none that could possibly give her any better advise than another wife of a Governing Body member. These GB men are so lucky to have the best and most supportive wives in the world. It is not a hard job at all when you compare it against the many Elders who have to hold down a full time job, care for their house and family and carry out all their JW duties. He should actually be worried that his wife has to look for support from the other GB's wives.
I wonder if he'll ever get any grandchildren.

Great to hear that you are still with your wife and therefore able to work this out together. -

Hi Joe, welcome to the forum. I would love to hear the reasons for you leaving. I haven't heard the rumours and cannot be bothered to look them up. It seems that it is common for rumours to be spread by JWs who like to justify why a person is no longer a JW, it's pretty sad really but something that they could be sued for.

Very funny.
As a side it made me wonder why we never see more than one GB member at a time in video's. Lately they have been showing a GB member seated next to a GB helper but not another GB member. Maybe they feel it would diminish their individual authority in some way but it would show them working as part of a team which is what the FDS is supposed to be all about.

You're right Hairtrigger. How are we to work out who the chosen ones are when the Governing Body can't even work out who they are? -

They could easily come up with some new wacky explanation incorporating their idea about 'this generation'.
It could go something like this - since the number was going down until 2007 we can see this would have been the first and second overlapping group of anointed but now that it is rising from 2007 this must be the third overlapping group. So we know that Armageddon must be coming very soon because the number of the second group would naturally still be going down.

Seriously, Why Can’t Jehovah’s Witness Women Wear Pants?
by Watchtower-Free ini found this.

seriously, why cant jehovahs witness women wear pants?.

So from that article it is not alright for women to look like men by dressing in pants, but it is okay sometimes and in some circumstances. Obviously there is no way they are going to look like a man when cleaning the house because spiritual JW men don't do that. -

Many of the speakers don't talk about the expansion of people, they just mention expansion of the building activity.
Regarding the maintenance of the buildings, they are being very clever here. They are going to have a detailed manual and provide training to ensure the congregations have a scheduled program of maintenance. Rather than let the building run down to a stage that it requires a number of updating at the one time (and therefore would be considered a major renovation for which the Society would have to pay) they will, no doubt, require modifications at a certain point in time. That might be repainting in Year 3, replacing carpets in Year 4, servicing electrical items in Year 2 and so on. Doing it this way means that the Society will not fork out the money but expect the congregations to finance these.
They are going to train the brothers in the congregations to carry out work such as Electrical and Plumbing. I don't know about the US laws but here in Australia qualified and registered Tradesmen can only carry out these duties.
I love the way that they give very little explanations as to why the commercial building type was more desirous than previous designs, yet they expect everyone to support the idea because the GB said so. They even pretend that there was some sort of democratic process to decide on the design.

Welcome OzGirl, I live in WA but don't hold that against me.
A suggestion is to start a new thread as the points you bring up aren't reflected in you thread title and it is an important that you appear to have done your own research on.
They made a lot of money when they were charging for publications. Now that it is on a donation basis we have seen the frequency and number of pages being reduced in the magazines and there are less books being published. Nothing is hard bound these days except for the bible. I remember asking for payment of the publications from the householder and saying that it was only to cover the cost of printing, what a lie that was.
Now they have had to find new means of making money which is pretty normal for any religion but the problem is that they are so secretive about how they go about this and resort to some questionable means.
There hasn't been a lot of discussion about it here but the Org. set up a new website to take bookings for Hotels, unfortunately you need a password to get into the website but I think it would be another source of commission.
