My wife , Son and DIL living with us ,have still not acknowledged my birthday today @ 5:15 pm , I might have to drop them a subtle hint.
by smiddy ini know being a witness for 33 years and not celebrating b/days you do lose the habit , but i thought one of them would have remembered ?
oh well .. maybe i will just rub it in with them tomorrow .make them feel guilty , eh ?.
then again i might just start singing "76 trombones" at the dinner table tonight .

About The GB-7
by coalize injust asking about this "new light" of the 7 member of the governing body (the gb-7) being the fds.
what is the point?.
what biblical "argument" have they given about that ?

Coalize, there's been a lot of new light lately. Another significant one is that they state they weren't being as discreet as they should have in the past and are dropping all their types and antitype interpretations unless the scriptures indicate clearly that they should apply. Unfortunately they haven't been specific about where the bible clearly indicates this and have only given a few insignificant examples.
Even if a JW was keen enough to keep up to date it is impossible because the GB are not specific enough.

Book cover for Kingdom Maladies
by punkofnice inrighto poppickers.
as some of you know, i have been putting together a book of interviews and humour.
it is designed (i hope), soften the blow for those inside the wbt$ who want to escape and also prove to those that have left that they are not alone.. anyway.

My personal opinion is that the target audience with that cover would be younger blokes. -

Candace Conti Settles
by Nitty-Gritty inhot topic on topix seems to be candace conti settlement.
but it's all quiet here.
are you guys aware that your hero, who was not in it for the money but to change policies, settled without changing anything?

Wow Nitty Gritty, so on your logic we can assure ourselves that JWs are always telling the truth if it's not going to hurt them financially on a personal level. It also means that the individual JW doesn't care less about losing money for their organization. -

Nitty Gritty -
I am not saying a JW is not capable of lying, but in this case, no JW or elder had anything to lose by saying the truth, so why would they lie?
What are you talking about, they had nothing to lose? They lost the case.
The very reason they don't handle abuse cases properly is because they put the interests of the organization ahead of the interests of the child.
Their were two main incentives to lie - to protect the organization and to win the case.
Now that you have at least two reasons as to why they would lie, do you think that they did?

Nitty Gritty, you don't think that Candace was entirely honest throughout the case, how honest do you think the elders and JWs were throughout this case? -

Coalize, another one is that the Faithful & Discreet Slave is no longer all of the faithful anointed but the Governing Body only. -

The paradox of the WTBTS
by coalize inon one hand, wtbts blame you if you choose to work instead of pioneering, and on the another hand, they ask crazily amount of money!.
isn't it paradoxal ?.
if every jw leave his job and pioneer, no more money!.
-

They don't need as much money as other religions do because everyone is working for free. If they don't have interesting jobs in the first place they are more likely to work for the WTBTS. -

The information is from the ACNC website and it is a requirement for the Head Office to report their financials whereas all the Australian congregations are registered individually here but are not required to report financials.

Oppostate, they are only in deficit because they sent half their money overseas, most of it probably to HQ as per Coalize's comment.
Dividing 19,611,866 in donations by the number of JWs currently in Australia 66,484 comes to $295. This means that the average yearly donation per JW is $295. This does not include the amount they donate to their local congregation for operating expenses.
