The Society cares more about Mark Sanderson's stick of Judah than the elephant in the room
by truthseeker ini just watched the segment of mark anderson's, gb member, talking at the annual general meeting.. they care more about obscure prophecies than the child abuse crisis in the organization.. he talks about the two and ten tribe kingdoms of israel, the stick of joseph and stick of judah, and likens it to the anointed and great crowd.. what a bunch of craziness!.
this is the kind of crap spiritual food the drones get..

The annual general meeting went on for hours and they spent a few minutes only discussing the huge changes that they are making. No solid reasons were given and it is now down to speculation. -

Most important lesson from Daniel's Prophesy - "Do YOU recognize the "holy ones of the Supreme one?"
by Zoos in... not that they would ever toot their own horn.

have you found the holy ones of the supreme one, and are you associating with them?

I am interested in reading the whole of this chapter, I am wondering what this solid evidence is.
The book is not on jw org, actually I was surprised to find so few books there. With such limited information, how is anyone supposed to learn what they teach?

Discussion with a Pioneer Pt. 3
by Saved_JW in[cont...] at this point david and i had developed a great rapport.
not everything we talked about was "theology" .
i think its important to develop some sort of friendship along the way, in doing so, he was able to relax and not be on guard the entire time.

I can see how you can help someone who is sincerely interested in the bible. -

"The Calendar of Jehovah God" - a historical tidbit
by OrphanCrow inin 1935, clayton woodworth (editor of the golden age - later the awake!
magazine) devised a 'new' calendar that he proposed was far superior to the pagan calendars that have been used in human history.he wrote a three part series for the golden age (i am not sure if these were actually published) that laid out his justifications for how this new calendar was more accurate and of course, was right in line with the divine plan.
the calendar was published in the 1935 yearbook, but the watchtower magazine later published a retraction to the calendar.

When I first heard about this, you realize how crazy they can be but what's even funnier is that the reasoning was given that current calendars had pagan origins and now they print a normal calendar every year for all the devoted followers. -

London Bethelites Living on Their Nerves?
by The Searcher injust got home and received information from a source regarding london bethel: .
a bethel couple told my source that they are getting rid of about 20/25 bethelites every week and that if they are to go, they will get called in on a friday and given their leaving date.everyone is "on edge" and hoping that if they get the boot, they've got time to make alternative plans.. perhaps bethelites everywhere should apply this scripture, by looking for a job and accommodation now - and then just resign from their "vow of poverty" without giving advance warning.
(proverbs 22:3) "the shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, but the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences.".

For the ones that are left, "Mother" has stopped washing their clothes, ironing their shirts, cleaning their rooms and making some of their meals. She's becoming very liberated.
(I hope that doesn't offend anyone, you just don't know these days)

EyesOpenHeartBroken, it is sad to hear that your father has passed away, it's not easy to deal with. I was fortunate enough to spend time with my father during his last months and I will never forget that as I imagine that is the same with you.
Thank you for sharing what he had to say. I will consider the book of John and James with your father's appreciation of them in mind.
Some posters have mentioned before that particularly amongst some of the older Elders there were/are some very special men. You're dad sounds like he was one of them. They knew of the flaws within the Organization, they saw it and experienced it on a level that most r&f members will never see. What kept them going was their love for God and they knew of no other way of feeling that they were serving him to the best of their ability. They were sincere and probably very disappointed at the many wrongs that they had seen.
Treasure the things that you learnt from him.

Is the welcome back song at the end sung by George Bensen? Not that the quality is as good as his songs, it does sound like him. -

Special Pioneer Sister-in-Law and Husband just got their letter.
by cappytan inwell, my sister-in-law and her husband, special pioneers for only a couple of years, just got their letter.. her comment was along the lines of, "they're having to do this because they forgave all those kingdom hall loans a few years ago and the brothers aren't donating anymore.".
when my wife told me, i laughed so hard i farted.

Joe134cd Joe= (in my mind I'm thinking WTF) I just think they have to be a bit more transparent and a bit more up front with there members. If these are in fact satanic lies that need to be rejected by the faithful then they certainly need to clear this up
That would require some humilty and for them to put the concerns of the flock ahead of their own. They often come across to me as basically suggesting it is none of their business and 'you just give us the money and we'll take care of everything else'.
Their demand to 'just trust us' is going to start to ring very hollow to some members.
