The longest minute?

which is longer, a treadmill minute or a microwave minute?.

... or every minute of every thursday meeting when you wanted to get back home in time to see red dwarf and some elder who loved the sound of his own voice had the mic..

LisaRose I'd park the shopping and go elsewhere if after a few minutes the store had made no attempts to resolve the problem. It would probably take up more of my time but if the supermarket isn't prepared to open up another isle then I'm not prepared to give them my money.

Sometimes that last minute on the treadmill, after setting a goal, can seem like eternity. Sometimes that microwave minute can be way too quick if you choose to do something in the meantime, like washing a few dishes.

You're posting a lot lately Simon, have you found a few extra minutes in your day?

i've only told two people about this (one being john cedars) for fear of getting this guy into trouble, but it's very telling and will reaffirm your "ttatt faith!

a couple of weeks ago, i had to have an "ability to protect" assessment by a gentleman from a company that also investigates child protection policies etc.

Kingdom Consolidation and Sales are coming – Reliable Source

i heard form a reliable source that a kingdom hall consolidation is going to be happening in the us.

currently they are looking at every kingdom hall to see if they could and should sell it.

any kingdom hall that has not been updated and is in a bad location (long driveway, not in a visible location etc...) will be sold.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully they will at least compensate him to the value of the land.

Sounds like he made a conditional donation and by selling the property they are breaking the conditions.

It doesn't matter if the contract was verbal, they can still be legally binding.

The Man With a Secretary's Inkhorn - who he, and does he wear flip-flops?

at the agm this year geoffrey jackson identified the "man with a secretary's inkhorn," of ezekiel chapter 9 as being jesus christ.

this was declared an "adjustment" from the previous understanding that the organisation used to believe that this "man" was "the annointed.".

has the society always taught that the "man with the secretary's inkhorn" was someone other than jesus - or is this a situation where back in the mists of time the bible students understood him to be jesus, and then rutherford (or someone) identified him as "the annointed," and now they have reverted back to their initial belief?.

This is another instance where the anointed have been demoted. The GB have taken away their inkhorns.

The Society cares more about Mark Sanderson's stick of Judah than the elephant in the room

i just watched the segment of mark anderson's, gb member, talking at the annual general meeting.. they care more about obscure prophecies than the child abuse crisis in the organization.. he talks about the two and ten tribe kingdoms of israel, the stick of joseph and stick of judah, and likens it to the anointed and great crowd.. what a bunch of craziness!.

this is the kind of crap spiritual food the drones get..

I just watched Sanderson's segment in the video. Their ideas just go from bad to worse. The first stick are the anointed and the second stick are the other sheep, both were tribes of Israel.

"Behold one hand, one stick, in the nation of Jehovah."

What is this nation? It can't be anything other than spiritual Israel. God has only one nation. They brought up the idea in the fds doctrine that the other sheep were now included as domestics in the household.

Why don't they come straight out and just say that the other sheep are now being considered as being part of spiritual Israel? No doubt it is because so many other doctrines need to be changed. I guess there's plenty of time to introduce the changes anyway and it doesn't matter if they stumble more JWs along the way, they're showing disobedience anyway.

The annual general meeting went on for hours and they spent a few minutes only discussing the huge changes that they are making. No solid reasons were given and it is now down to speculation.

The book is not on jw org, actually I was surprised to find so few books there. With such limited information, how is anyone supposed to learn what they teach?

"The Calendar of Jehovah God" - a historical tidbit

in 1935, clayton woodworth (editor of the golden age - later the awake!

magazine) devised a 'new' calendar that he proposed was far superior to the pagan calendars that have been used in human history.he wrote a three part series for the golden age (i am not sure if these were actually published) that laid out his justifications for how this new calendar was more accurate and of course, was right in line with the divine plan.

the calendar was published in the 1935 yearbook, but the watchtower magazine later published a retraction to the calendar.

When I first heard about this, you realize how crazy they can be but what's even funnier is that the reasoning was given that current calendars had pagan origins and now they print a normal calendar every year for all the devoted followers.
