It's great to see you back The Searcher and your contributions are greatly appreciated.
You are spot on.
There are so many inconsistencies with the org's policies.

What The Org Teaches: #1 DEALING WITH SINNERS
by The Searcher into help those who are fading and those who visit this site anonymously - due to org-induced paranoia regarding "evil apostates" - i'd like to offer some examples of doctrinal teachings for them to examine closely.. hopefully it will provide a bit of comfort for some, to see that their doubts are fully justified.. i'll post a few - one each day - to demonstrate that "the truth" of the org is not what j.w.
one or two previous topics will be repeated for the benefit of new friends to the site.. what the org says: .
if a sinner is found to have committed a serious sin, they should be confronted by a witness who has first-hand knowledge of the offender's sin.

The UN Files - Print Out And Keep For Your Next JW Visitor
by pale.emperor ini've been researching the wt and the un involvement.
when i was still in and i first seen the un letter online, my cognitive dissonance kicked and i told myself it'll be a fake.
an apostate lie.. and seeing as no jw i've spoken to has ever heard of it, and flatly deny any involvement "no, they wouldn't do that", i decided to do a little "personal study" of my own.

The Branch Committee letter alone proves that the Watchtower registered and therefore became associated with the United Nations.

Brother & Sister-in-Law Return to Kingdom Hall After Two Decades, Quickly Get Stumbled
by TMS init was a mild surprise, learning that a brother and sister-in-law had began re-associating with jehovah's witnesses after at least 25 years of being away.
the couple, of hispanic ethnicity, are in their early 60's, with their five children all grown and independent.
the family had been considered nominal jws, infrequently attending meetings, rarely in field service, but using the annual convention as their family vacation.

That's a funny thing about mowing the lawn. I remember it being a coveted task. All the blokes wanted to do it, rather than washing the windows, gardening, sweeping the carpark etc. I think it was something to do with men and their toys.

There is so much information on TTATT available these days and inactive ones don't have the fear indoctrinated into them like current JWs.

That's great work Happy Gal.
I am also appalled that she left her kids in the car.

Song 146 - You did it for me
by Listener inthe watchtower 1970 4/1 emphasis the principle that singing at the kingdom hall is part of worship to god and is one of the most beautiful ways they can show this worship to him.. of all the ways in which we can worship and praise jehovah god—by prayer, by public talks, by our field ministry and by our exemplary conduct—one of the most beautiful of them is this literal singing of songs to jehovah’s praise....and, above all, let us pay more than usual attention to the words.
it is by the words that we worship jehovah god, bringing praise to him.
as an introduction to song 146, jw org states -jesus considers any act of love and support for his anointed brothers as though it were done for him.

Thanks for your comments OneEyedJoe and DataDog regarding the idea of being repaid.
Thanks nmthinker for the link to that very interesting thread regarding the sheep and the goats. They changed their idea regarding being appointed by Jesus over all his belongings in 2013. Part of his belongings included the other sheep and was used as confirmation of their authority over the other sheep. They are now left with only Matthew 25:35-40 (sheep and goats) to try to enforce their authority. -

Since they have been admonished to also take special note of the words, here are the lyrics to Song No. 146Other sheep Jesus has, and they serve alongside
those anointed to be Christ’s heavenly bride.
All the things that are done
for their comfort and aid
are things he considers that must be repaid.
(CHORUS)
“If you comforted them, you comforted me.
If you did it for them, you did it for me.
Your labors for them were your labors for me.
You did it for them; you did it for me.
If you did it for them, you did it for me.”
“Yes, you comforted me in my hunger and thirst,
and whatever my need, you came to me first.”
“Tell us, when did we do this?”
these ones will reply.
The King will then answer them, telling them why:
(CHORUS)
“You’ve been loyal to me, doing works that are fine,
as you preach alongside these brothers of mine.”
So the King will then say
to the sheep on his right:
“Inherit the earth and perfection of life.”
(CHORUS)
(See also Prov. 19:17; Matt. 10:40-42; 2 Tim. 1:16, 17.)
As if it is not enough that they are singing songs of praise to the Governing Body, the first part of the song is a claim by them that works and aid are actually owed to them. They use the phrase that these things must be 'repaid'. -

Brighton RC Baptism Numbers
by konceptual99 inso there was a peak attendance of around 8700 (as i recall - i was dozing...).
baptism numbers - 24. so around 0.27%.
it may be slightly up or down on that depending on the actual attendance.. the majority of baptism candidates were young people so very likely born-in..

Thanks for the report Konceptual99, that number is very low which is good to see.

Why are anniversaries allowed but not birthdays?
by hyperpen inthe scripture quotes aside, i was always told that we don't celebrate birthdays because that is a celebration of the self, which has no place in jehovah's organization.
then why celebrate anniversaries?
anniversary celebrations are about the joining of two selves, isn't that twice as selfish?.

They have made rules regarding Wedding Anniversaries. They want them to be modest and small celebrations if they are going to be celebrated in the first place.
Watchtower 9810/15
Whether they focus on this happy occasion in private, just as a couple, or they have a few relatives or close friends with them would be for them to decide. The occasion should not become a mere excuse for a large social gathering. On this occasion Christians would want to be guided by the principles that apply every day of their lives. So whether one takes note of a wedding anniversary or not is a personal matter -

not one but four witnesses at my door
by gerry inhaving not had a witness knock on my door since i left over 13 years ago i was surprised a few sunday mornings ago to find two young sisters who i had not seen before at my door.
it was not long before their husbands who were witnessing at my neighbors joined the conversation.
the conversation went on for some time so i am keeping the experience as brief as i can.. mind you with all what has been happening lately with the australian royal commission here in australia i had been looking forward to having a discussion with any witness who comes within earshot.

That's great Gerry. That took a lot of courage, strange isn't it, you were there speaking truth to them yet it was still difficult to start with. They have back up, usually just one person but in your case, another three, so it's no wonder your heart was pounding.
