Sorry, my comments would not post.
These clowns have no depth of understanding about rights and wrongs.
It has been well proven that DUI puts the drivers life in danger as well as others. They are more concerned with what they consider to be biblical drunkenness rather than the more serious issue of putting others in danger.

Situation: A concerned publisher informs the elders that a brother went to a party and got drunk.
Two other publishers approach the elders to complain of hearing similar reports, and show the elders pictures from social media of the brother with a beer bottle in his hand. The elders also learn that he was pulled over by police and ticketed for driving while intoxicated
Questions: Should the elders immediately form a judicial committee? What should be done if a matter has not been clearly established but there are serious questions? (Pr 18:13, 17; ks10 5:38) If there are doubts about whether a matter merits judicial action, what should the elders do? (ks10 5:2) [Highlight the following factors: The accusation may, or may not, meet the Scriptural definition of drunkenness. Legal blood-alcohol limits vary depending on local laws and do not necessarily establish that a person was Biblically drunk. The elders have not yet spoken to the accused. Therefore, the body of elders should assign two brothers to investigate this serious accusation. If questions still remain after a thorough investigation, it is best to contact the Service Department for guidance -

But it's alright if we do it.
by Lost in the fog inwe were talking with a friend who is in a different area and they mentioned that their present kingdom hall building used to be a church before the brothers bought it cheaply and renovated it.
"of course," john then said, "it'll be dedicated to jehovah after all the work is done so even if everyone in the community still call it the old church, we'll know it is jehovah’s place of worship.
hadn't consciously thought about it until now, but isn't it hypocrisy to (re)dedicate a church and it becomes ok for the witnesses to use.

Good news Amicabl. The organisation has been failing people on their promises. This happened in another place in Australia. They sold a Hall saying it wasn't big enough (for the memorial) and they would rebuild. This was about five years ago. They have not rebuilt and now every JW from that Hall has to travel at least 20 km's extra.
How much of a inconvenience has this caused your wife and other members?

I don't understand why they find it necessary to dedicate a Kingdom Hall to God in the first place, it is just a material thing. Most JWs have a special bag that they only use for field service, why don't they have a formal dedication for that? Or for their carts?
I think it is highly inappropriate given that most Kingdom Halls have toilets and wash rooms inside, it's not very honor able to be dedicating these to God.
Its only a ritual that takes place to make publishers think it's all part of their worship to Jehovah and have them donate more.

Solaris, are you able to prove your claim regarding Russell. I know you say it's secret but if you know he was then you've just proven that claim as false. It's no longer secret once it's on public notice.
Has your research revealed which Governing Bod members today are Fremasons?

Sparrowdown - Hmmm...Maybe I should start a thread with just "ug?" and see how many people respond.
You'd want to be careful, the Watchtower might come after you for copyright. -

Jehovah and Jesus trusts the imperfect Slave who cares for things to the best of his ability and with the best of motives.
Some of them may have the best of intentions and they've certainly got where they are by being groomed to develop what their motives should be.
The key word here is 'things'. People aren't things and that includes all the abused children.
They just don't seem to realize that those 'things' are the organization itself and that is a fundamental flaw in their thinking. The organization/fds do not have love for their followers as their underlying motivation. -

The article in the June 2018 Watchtower, the following is the first paragraph, highlights are mine
THE POWER OF A GREETING
HELLO! How are you today?”
No doubt you have often used a greeting such as that. You may even have accompanied your greeting with a handshake or a hug. Customs and words used may differ from place to place, but the basics of a greeting are much the same. In fact, not offering or responding to a greeting may be taken as unloving or as evidence of bad manners.Poopie, it's very unlikely that there will be any change in policy.

W 07 5/1 - genuine anointed Christians do not demand special attention. They do not believe that their being of the anointed gives them special “insights,” beyond what even some experienced members of the great crowd may have. They do not believe that they necessarily have more holy spirit than their companions of the other sheep have; nor do they expect special treatment or claim that their partaking of the emblems places them above the appointed elders in the congregation.
This doesn't apply to the Governing Body Members of the Faithful & Discreet Slave. They are a special class where a publisher must have even more trust in them over Elders who they may have known personally for decades. They do expect special treatment and Losch makes it clear that Jesus has specifically chosen him to be crowned a King.

It must be causing a stir otherwise they would not have spent time and resources on damage control. There's no doubt about it, Jackson is responsible for being a stumbling block to some JWs. Occasionally you can read about his testimony playing an important part in the waking up of some JWs.
I wonder if Jackson has thought of stepping down? I would be surprised if he hasn't, at least, thought about the damage he has done and been very sad. He's in a similar position as Morris was and continues to be but Jackson comes across as a little more humble than him.
It would be lovely to see him return to his wife's Island home and start a family. He may even begin to wake up when he meditates on all his experiences as a GB member.
