  do we understand these three words: worship, idolatry, and blasphemy?.

  most christians have a vague notion of worship, idolatry, and blasphemy already, but.

  a clear definition is necessary.. we must take care to differentiate, however.. how the words appear in original language and how they are defined today might be at odds.. ____________________.

  Excellant thread.

  One aspect that is stumblying and which the organization uses today is the original earthly nation that God established a covenant with to become his people. Worship seemed to be more of a physical display rather than emotional, with written laws to be obeyed, sacrifices, fistivals and a temple. God required this showy display of worship. Was worship an emotional thing to them? Maybe that is why they were not successful in God's eyes and why Jesus needed to bring in a new covenant, one that was attainable for imperfect human. Once we appreciate and understand that worship is an emotion which comes from the heart we can be assured that this is God's will.

  What the organization has done, is set itself up as a new earthly Israel on the pretence that it is a spiritual Israel. This is demonstratable on many levels but most significantly by excluding the great crowd of other sheep as being excluded from the spiritual Israel.

  so im at the meeting after its over and this elder says to me that god needs my voice because he, the elder, feels that my singing is not loud enough.

  i did not tell him this, but singing just is not my thing.

  he then went on saying how gods people are better singers than "the worlds singers".

  You should ask him from which scripture he gets the idea that God needs your voice, the scriptures show the opposite and that God doesn't need anything from us mere humans.

  It sounds like he let this last JW TV org monthly program go to his head, there was a large portion spent on discussing how important Kingdom Songs were and anything in comparison was just candy. They also mentioned that elders needed to prepare for some meeting in January where they would be singing a new song.

  i was just considering the copyright issues that the wtbts impose on other people and thought about their so called appointment of the fds as discussed in matthew 24:45 "who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics ?.

  this is how tje governing body identify the domestics.

  I was just considering the copyright issues that the WTBTS impose on other people and thought about their so called appointment of the FDS as discussed in Matthew 24:45 "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics ?”

  This is how tje Governing Body identify the domestics

  Who, then, are the domestics ? They are simply those who receive spiritual food. Early in the last days, the domestics were all anointed ones. Later, a great crowd of other sheep also became part of the domestics . Most of Christ’s “one flock” is now made up of the other sheep. (John 10:16) Both groups benefit from the same spiritual food that is given at the right time through the faithful slave - W 13 7/15

  Therefore the domestics are only JWs which means that the Governing Body has not been appointed to feed spriritual food to anyone other than JWs. They have no divine authority to provide their literature to the public. Their spiritual food is being provided through JW.org, through public meetings and through their literature and all this is being given to the public, not just JWs.

  It is hard to believe that this guy wasn't in jail before the incident.

  It is reported

  Late last year he was charged with being an accessory to the murder of his ex-wife and mother of two.

  More recently he was charged with a raft of offences in relation to indecent and sexual assault while operating as a self-proclaimed "spiritual healer" in Sydney's west more than a decade ago.

  On Friday, his latest appeal in relation to the sending of letters to deceased Australia soldiers was dismissed by the High Court.

  Monis escaped jail time over the incident was sentenced to 300 hours of community service and placed on a two-year good behaviour bond in September 2013.

  Apparently he was wearing a backpack during the incident and police were led to believe that he was carrying explosives. Throughout the day's reporting yesterday the media kept repeating how we had the best security enforcement officers in the world and yet there was nothing said or done to prove this.

  Apparently we are a peaceful country according to the Prime Minister, I thinks that translates into the idea of not killing the terrorist in order to prevent any retaliation.

  It's not surprising that they are very judgemental. Their witnessing work reinforces this to them personally. It doesn't matter what a householder says and how strongly they are able to support their ideas a JW automatically determines that they are wrong in their thinking if it is not what the org. teaches and will attempt to correct them.

  There are reports that a woman saw the terrorist outside of the cafe and saw him with a gun or pistol, she wasn't sure but she raised the alarm. There are no specifics about this and ABC News are saying that she may have been a policewoman. Apparently, within minutes the police were alerted to the problem and it is possible that the terrorist was diverted from his original plans and holding up people in the cafe was a sudden, unplanned action on his part.

  Nephew going to bethel - seeking seed planting ideas

  i have posted a handful of times so far.

  i am seeking some ideas to plant some seeds with my nephew before he goes to patterson.. a little about me and the going away party where i will have an opportunity to plant these seeds.

  i have a little freedom since i am the only relative that he is in communication with that spent some time at bethel.

  I agree with Billy, try to keep up communications with him. Let him know that you're there to give him any advice about the goings on within Bethel or any support that he might need.
