i'm just curious as to how it all happened.. to explain.

many years back, before ex-jw websites, i called on a local lady in order to design an extension to her already enormous house.

she was a young, voluptuous gal, married to a much older local business man who spared little expense in order to give his young wife whatever her heart desired.. we chatted for ages.

There are numerous reports of what was said about him in the Congregations. I personally heard how he was at the lead in this apostasy movement. That he was spreading false teachings and that he was only interested in gathering followers for himself and to make money from it.

You are right about the Watchtower not needing to do anything about it. However, I was under the impression that they try to do things in a similar manner to the first Century christians. From the secret JC's to the disfellowshipping of individuals without the Congregation knowing of the 'sin', none of this is similar. Disfellowshipping for having a meal with a df'd person is also unbiblical.

Fisherman - He went public and by doing that he broke the rules that he subscribed to when he joined jw.

What rules are these that he subscribed to when he joined?

Fisherman TMS, It would not be fair to RF to publish anything more about his case than what is publicly known without him being around to defend any claims and I am not saying that there is anything more because even implying it would not be fair to the man

He was a Governing Body member and they df'd him. There were all sorts of rumors and lies that were being spread around about him.

The Watchtower should have published the truth about the situation rather than let lies be spread.

i can't imagine there are many families that can afford an ipad in the pacific islands.

I was appalled at the photo. Here was a stranger, a man, trying to entice the kids with a flashy cartoon, he may as well have had a bag of lollies.

Can anyone allay my suspicions?

can you allay my suspicions of wt associated activity?.

during the last 3 to 4 co visits, i noticed a predeliction on the part of the ladt few co's for taking photos at fs meetings and photos of cong at end of visit.

i'm beginning to suspect that such is not because the co's have a newly found socially engaging disposition (being cool).

i started leaving the group in 04', and quit following what they do around 08'.

my recent posts express my reaction to what has happened since.. i just "tuned in" to the jw broadcasting episode for may 2016. it is worth a viewing.

gb member anthony morris describes what is basically the thrust of why this entire effort exists.

Trying to indoctrinate kids using made up characters will provide an easy disconnect for kids as they grow older. They will outgrow the cartoons and will see them more as fairytale.

Anthony Morris the III made a great joke in his last video about one child thought he was Sophia's and Caleb's grandfather. I also remember when the org. mocked parents for pretending that Santa was real.

To come up with an idea like the generation teaching show they do have an agenda, but the delusional men justify it. Jesus gave the commission to keep on the watch and they justify their wrong dates and speculation on doing their job of keeping the sheep on the edge of their seats in anticipation. That's why they don't apologize, because they feel they were ultimately doing what they were commissioned and their mistakes are just a means to an end, done with the best of intentions and sincerity.

a few days ago i read a post of someone who has recently awakened to what the watchtower bible and tract society really is.

in their comments, they stated that they had been accused of "running ahead of jehovah.".

"running ahead of jehovah" was a statement levied at me many times during my convoluted journey through that organization.

Dutch branch refuses to meet with LGBT rights organization.

in the wake of the anti-gay cartoon, the coc (dutch lgbt rights organization) invited watchtower netherlands to discuss how watchtower is dealing with lgbt people in their ranks.

focus of the meeting would be on making sure lgbt jw feel safe and fully accepted.. today several newspapers are reporting that the branch declined the invitation, stating that they 'can't imagine lgbt jw feeling unsafe.

the branch won't talk to coc, but they might discuss internally with lgbt jw.'.

They are not prepared to co-operate with the higher authorities, they have to be forced through legal means.
