If the Watchtower had to change something, either in print or on video, it would take about two months to do it. They are so slow.

by neat blue dog ini recently watched a video about a kingdom hall demonstration from a link on this site, and in the comments on youtube somebody said this: .
i understand that the "apostate" activity this week has caused the wt/gb to change the content of the november jwbroadcasting episode and will delay its release until they can figure out how to spin this activity.. .

There were reports afterwards of a couple of Sisters crying after the women spoke of their own sad experiences. It may have been that their stories hit a nerve.
The Elders told them they were approaching them in the wrong way and they should contact HQ. They were responding to questions with 'no comment'.
Naturally the police were called, the Elders feel themselves incapable of handling the situation. One policeman showed up and was supportive of the protesters, wanting to know more about them and their cause.
The VAA also protested later in the day in front of the Warwick complex, apparently there were over 100 of them. The Watchtower parked a large truck at their entrance and turned the sprinklers on, when it was raining. Parker (Fateful Slave) went and spoke to the JW security guards and again invited the GB to talk to them. They refused and pressed a button, calling the police. A police car turned up and left quickly after, not even bothering to talk to the protesters.
Here is an organisation that will not address serious issues, they should not be surprised that there are some who want to bring it to their attention.
Well done VAA.

Visitors will also see how our methods of spreading the good news have developed from sound cars and sandwich boards, to high speed printing presses and witnessing carts.
Over 100 years developing from using sandwich boards to carts isn't really progress. -

There's also a picture of a young boy at school, it looks like he might be sitting on his own and he is making a spectical of himself, with his head down, hands together and eyes closed, praying. Four kids are looking at him, some stunned and some amused. It is presented as an example of maintaining integrity.
It's little comments like the following that gives insight to the ideals of a JW. In the Study article regarding spirituality this was saidAre we like Jesus, ever ready to show compassionate concern when we meet people who need help? In addition, Jesus devoted himself to the work of preaching and teaching the good news. (Luke 4:43) All such feelings and actions are marks of a spiritual person.
When it comes to helping someone in need showing compassion is all that is required but in making converts to the organization, physical work is required.
Just a little further on in the article they talk about some of the qualities displayed in a modern day 'spiritual person'.
In the next article the reader is told the following8 Paul urged first-century Christians to “press on to maturity.” (Heb. 6:1) In order to apply Paul’s counsel today, what steps can we take? One important step is to study the publication “Keep Yourselves in God’s Love.” Completing your study of that book will help you to see how to apply Bible principles in your life. If you have already finished studying that book, can you move on to other study materials that can help you to stabilize your faith? (Col. 1:23)
Not only are there publications important in order to gain salvation but here they have mentioned a specific book as being important in order to 'press on to maturity'. I wonder if there are any of Russell's books that would benefit JWs in this way? And if there publications are so important, why are they printing less and not more?
Then there is this spotlight focus on a deceased GB member, who's words must be so meaningful that special mention of them are recalled.
In commenting on Luke 13:24, John Barr, who served as a member of the Governing Body, pointed out some years ago, “Many fail because they are not diligent enough to grow mighty.”
JWs are told that they should not entertain fleshly thoughts or material thanking and yet they dare to protest that they are not extremist. If we find that our mind pushes us toward materialistic thinking or fleshly desires, we should not give up. Keep asking for the spirit, and Jehovah will help you to redirect your mental attitude to focus on proper things. (Luke 11:13)
Further on, they suggest that you are endangering your spirituality if you accept an invitation from a stranger to join them in playing a game online. -

Irish Elders deleted by Watchtower for reporting child sex abuse allegation to police
by Diogenesister intwo elders have been deleted by watchtower for reporting an allegation of child sexual abuse to the police, contrary to watchtower orders (a jw paedophile with a history, apparently).
when the british branch discovered what the elders had done they arranged for 3 elders to fly over to ireland, at the congregations expense no less, to hold a special jc for the ' rogue' congregation elders.
one elder and the cobe were deleted, two were allowed to continue.

Data Dog - Damn guys!! Let's give Lloyd a break.. He's the only ex-dub that comes close to being a journalist. He's not a nutter, and does quality work.
I've only recently become aware of the work done by Alexandra James. She's been writing blogs on JW Victims for several years now but began a Youtube Chanel only recently. Her work is excellent. The quality of her journalistic work IMHO surpasses Lloyd's.
Paul Grundy is another excellent writer who pays a lot of attention to detail. -

How many watchtowers do the witnesses receive each year?
by Truth and Justice inmy question is how many watchtower and awake magazines do the witnesses receive thru the year?
my mother and i stop going about 30 years ago, my sister does attend still, and she says that they will receive 3 watchtowers and 3 awakes a year.
is that true?

Currently they have available -
1 study Watchtower per month
1 simplified study Watchtower per month1 public Awake and 1 public Watchtower on alternate months (6 of each per year)
As of January, 2018 they will have
1 study Watchtower per month in semi simplified language
3 Awakes per year
3 public Watchtowers per year
This means that they won't have a new Watchtower or Awake readily available for their regular return visits so their approach will be very different.
I was wondering, for the average publisher who does 10 hours of door to door work per month, how many mags (including study mags) would they currently be obtaining per month and what would you anticipate this to be in 2018? -

Some more background information on Geoffrey Jackson
by Listener inborn in 1955 jacko was baptized at 13 years of age in 1968.his life story, printed in the august 2015 watchtower doesn't state the year in which he married, it's fairly general when talking about it.
hmmm, i wonder why?i've come across a recording of an interview with jacko at a hall dedication in another part of the us in 2009 which provides some further information.he married his first wife, jenny, in 1974 at the grand old age of 19. no wonder they didn't want to print it in the watchtower.unfortunately his first wife, jenny, was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.in 2003 jacko was sent a letter from the gb stating he was being transferred to hq and his wife would be given appropriate work.
he initially didn't know why they were being called to hq as he felt they were being very productive in their fijian paradise, he states that they brought 75 people into the truth.

Half of the talk is given over to personal experiences and some of them are really over the top.
He relates one of his favorite stories about Bro Barr. He says that whilst at a Bethel meal a Bro approached Barr with a camera and tells him that he is studying with a 90 year old man called Harry and asks Barr to give him a message. Bro Barr looks at the camera and says "Harry, you better hurry up"
Jacko's not sure if he should mention this next story but does anyway. Barr was going to lunch one day and a recently appointed CO pants up to him and asks him if he has any words of advice. Bro Barr tells him to 'drink good Scotch'.
More on the worrying side is a story Jacko tells about Bro. Sydlyk who he reports as punching a young Bro. in the stomach in the lifts one day. The young Bro. says to him that he shouldn't be doing that as he's a GB member. Bro. Sydlyk says 'Who's going to believe you son'
And then it just goes further downhill from there. Jacko talks about the time he had just arrived in the US and was having a meal with Bro. Sydlik. Jacko explains how much in awe he was of him. Halfway through the meal Bro. Sydlik pipes up and says "Fiji, that's where men wear dresses" Jacko says that's true and Sydlik asks "Bro. Jackson, do you wear a dress" Jacko says yes and Sydlik says "My God, what have we got here?"
That's the second time now that I've heard GB members say "my God", We would have had our mouths washed out for using this term when we were young.
A number of years later Jacko makes his first presentation to the GB at which Sydlik walks up to him and says "Fiji, that's where men wear dresses". Then just before Sydlik passed away they were at an evening meal together and Jacko was relating these stories to his wife and Sydlik says "Yeah, and he still walks funny too".
Jacko brings up this dress thing later on and talks about a GB meeting having finished and he made a silly comment. He explains that they were onto him like a pack of wolves and said 'Who would believe you, you wear a dress'.
There's so much wrong with these comments, not the least in making fun of another countries traditions which they preach against.
Of course, the GB members are so humble. He talks about Bro. Barr, who at 96 would attend assemblies overseas and other Bro's would come up and say how they had never met one of the anointed. His comment to them, apparently with total heartfelt sincerity, was "Please remember, I have to be faithful". If this stands out as significant to Jacko, I wonder what the other GB members feel. But Jacko says of Bro. Barr that he's the best christian he's ever met, obviously he's already comfortable judging other people.
