Child pornography should NOT be automatically handled by a judicial committee

they have updated their policy on viewing child pornography.. from a congregation standpoint it is not viewed as child sex abuse and is something that should not be automatically handled by a judicial committee.

it states that a person viewing child pornography should be strongly counseled.

Rattigan350 I just googled to find out whether it is or not and a legal firm has this to say

The Answer: Googling the term "child pornography" is not illegal, but viewing or possessing any images or depictions of children in sexual situations is illegal. ... After all, possessing or viewing those types of images is illegal in all 50 states and federally, so they do not allow criminal activity as searchable.2 June 2021

Another website (Stop it Now) has this to say

As the sexual abuse of a child is illegal, any image depicting this is an image of a crime being committed. Watching child pornography is a crime. Everytime your brother watches child pornography, he is committing a crime. In essence, two crimes are being committed at the same time - a child being sexually abused and watching a child being sexually abused. Additionally, when child pornography is watched, it creates a demand for images of children being sexually abused and hence, more children are at risk for being sexually abused by the people who make these images.
I would also add that child sexual abuse can also occur without touching a child. Non-touching child sex abuse does include watching child pornography. A woman who was sexually abused as a child and the abuse was filmed, stated that she feels violated time and time again whenever she thinks about these films being passed around. So, to be clear, viewing child pornography is absolutely child sexual abuse. For further information, please read defining child sexual abuse and defining child pornography.

They can't even keep their story straight. They usually say that individuals won't be protected but the organisation as a whole will.

As for stating that saving people will put God to the test doesn't sound right.

i`ll go first ,i have my vaccinated 2 jabs for the elderly.. if i`m not around in the next 3 months you will know why ..

Smiddy, we are in WA where the borders are still closed but it's not going to stay that way so hubby and I decided to get the AZ and it means we can travel to Victoria.

Due to the closed borders, the second AZ jab is given 12 weeks apart as studies show that maximum protection is given by giving it at 12 weeks rather than earlier. They rushed the second jab over east due to the increase in infections.

We are due the second jab at the end of the month.

The Government will discontinue the supply of the AZ so if we have to get a booster it will be a 'mixed vax' which I'm not too happy about given that there's not much research available.

I hope not. There are many adults that work in front of screens all day.

I wonder if this satisfaction rating given by boys and girls is not because of spending time in front of the screens but as a result of not finding satisfaction in other activities.

Diogenesister - the two covenants mentioned in this article is not a new teaching but they don't talk about it often. The Insight book under 'Covenants' makes the distinction.

It looks like you are right about them always teaching that as Kings in heaven the will co-rule with Jesus. I didn't realize that they mean they won't be under Jesus but will be ruling alongside him. I can't find what Bible verses they use to support this idea.

Interestingly, they mention how the anointed are in two covenants. The new covenant and the Kingdom covenant. They claim that both of these covenants opened up the way for a small number to become Kings and Priests in heaven. I don't think they've been so specific about this before. They are distinguishing two covenants that do exactly the same thing.

They also write that once in Heaven, they will be serving alongside Jesus and that they are co-rulers. I never realised this before but they are teaching that they will be Kings together with Jesus, no longer serving under his rulership. This makes the millenial rulership of Jesus a nonsense as they are saying it is the rulership of Jesus and Russell, Rutherford, Tony Morris, Jackson, Herd, Lett, Splane and the rest.

However, further on in the article, they say that the anointed are serving under the leadership of Jesus. I guess they can't make up their mind. Other articles explain that Jesus is the High Priest and the anointed are underpriests so maybe that is the distinction.

They write that one of the reasons that the other sheep must attend the memorial is as follows -

16 Another reason why we attend the Memorial is that we want to obey Jesus. Regardless of our hope for the future, we take personally the command that Jesus gave on the night he instituted the Memorial: “Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”—1 Cor. 11:23, 24.

Since those scriptures include the instruction to partake then it must include the other sheep otherwise they are claiming that part of Jesus' instructions included the other sheep and the rest didn't. Jesus made no such distinction.

They are holding their memorial on Friday 22nd April.

i find this hard to believe and have not seen anything on this from our trusty sources on this site.

Jonahstourguide -The talk among elders in WA is "isn't this a bit premature?"

I'm not surprised that the murmuring amongst the WA Elders is to question it.

This is what the GB Announcement says in part

The branches participating will select Kingdom Halls in areas where vaccination rates are high and infection rates are low.

The fully vaccinated rate in WA is only 53% whereas Vic and NSW are around the 70% mark. Although there are zero cases in WA and a couple of thousand cases per day in Victoria.

It would appear that they have chosen WA purely on cases rather than vaccination rates.

With NSW, in particular, opening up, it would be expected that WA could soon have a problem. Even though WA has a closed border policy, there are still many truck drivers and exempted persons from other states travelling in. I wouldn't be surprised if we, in WA are in lockdown fairly soon.

The Elders in WA will just have to be ready to shut the KHs and go back to what they have currently been doing when this does happen.
