In Australia there is no formal reading of the Will. I imagine this only occurs if someone requests it. The executor of the Will would decide that or it may be a required act listed in the Will.
The executor of the Will, who had been appointed by the deceased is required to execute it in accordance to the deceased’s written instructions. If the Watchtower has been left anything they may or may not know.
From what I’ve read, it is the Branch office that overseas anything left to the Watchtower and they could use anyone in the organisation to assist with it. That’s if it is necessary, The executor may be able to deal with it directly with the branch.

Thoughts on annual meeting “new light”
by FFGhost inso, i finally saw the annual meeting video part 2.. this is the one with the “new light” on who might survive armageddon, vs. those who do not.. in summary, for those of you fortunate enough not to have to sit through it, it’s something like this:.
old light: once the “great tribulation” starts, that’s it for non-jws.
the “door of the ark” is closed.

teddenzo - I suppose they are saying it’s a bit like the Bible says there will be a resurrection of the unrighteous. Maybe they think unrighteous can also survive Armageddon now since they said it would be stupid to hope your loved ones die beforehand.
—————————
You might be on to something there.
It’s never made sense that most JWs and everyone else are judged at Armageddon and only good JWs will survive, the rest dying forever. Then good and bad people are resurrected with all reaching perfection by the end of 1,000 years after Armageddon and at that time the Jws who were already judged at Armageddon will be judged again. Everyone else (except those killed in Noah’s day/Soddom & Gomorrah/ etc.) will be judged for the first time.
Some more changes in doctrine must be coming.

Utter nonsense. The matter is simply explained in WT publications. Jesus was enthroned in 1914 and later in his reign as King will carry out a specific assignment as described in Matt 25:31 of the separating of the sheep and the goats. Such an understanding of prophecy is eschatology at its best using the best principles of exegesis and eisegesis.
scholar JW
Let’s deal in facts, Scholar. Enough is enough is hardly writing what you term ‘utter nonsense’ and there is nothing that you could call ‘simply explained’ within the pages of the Watchtower.
When you find different interpretations for the sheep and the goats within those same magazines and with ‘simple explanations’ for those different interpretations with very different conclusions, you have a serious problem. You also end up with what could be considered, a word salad, creating different scenarios for whomsoever of the GB sees fit at any point in time.

I wonder if Jackson was first amongst the GB to try and emulate Pastor Russel?

JWs And Superstitions
by NotFormer inprompted by a mention in a different thread.. cracks in the sidewalk, a pinch of salt over the shoulder, black cats🐈⬛; do jws have such superstitious beliefs.
are they allowed to?
would they be counselled if the elders became aware?.

I was going to ask if anyone has tried playing Rutherford's records backwards but realised there's no need to.
His talks were very creepy.

Jackson said we wouldn't shoot the dog for it's false warnings but I think it should be. It's drawn too much blood from too many people.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

His drinking may have resulted in a serious fall with broken bones requiring ten's of thousands in medical bills and rehabilitation. That would be enough for him to be disgraced and thrown off the GB and why he hasn't been seen.
He wouldn't be in any position to refuse financial assistance or accepting new arrangements.
