Nick, I guess many who posted know Satan doesn't exist. We just wanna join the fun commenting on the entertaining stories told by the WT. I personally like Satan. He's cool, badass from the beginning and inspired so many things. Compared to god, satan is certainly more knowledgeable, more hardworking, more efficient & a man of his word. -

If jw's obeyed all of the bible commandments what would they be like?
by purrpurr inthe jw's cite abstaining from blood along with other cherry picked commandments.
but then ignore the others.
this is very hippocritical and if they are going to obey one commandment they should be obeying the rest.. just as a bit of fun then... what would jw's be like if they obeyed every rule in the bible?.

The JWs told me that paradise is like when Adam & eve time before they sinned. Means those who will make it to paradise will actually become dumb? Oh god is creepy & Satan is awesome -

i feel more confused than ever
by BlackWolf inwell i know i've been posting a lot of topics like this lately and i'm sorry if i sound whiny or annoying.
my parents were asking me why i was so upset lately and i ended up just telling them the whole truth.
i told them i don't believe in god or the bible because i don't have any evidence of anything.

BlackWolf, make two things very clear and hopefully you'll live happier.
1. It seems like you're awaken and it's difficult to put you back to sleep. That is something you should be happy about.
2. You must know who you are dealing with. They are not just ordinary jws, they are also your loved ones. You need to go easy on them. This is mature stuff and it is not easy at your age. Anyway you gotta be a man. I know you wanna be an honest boy and express all your feelings to them. But again, check again who you're dealing with. There is no point telling them everything (at this point of time). Tell them something that they could probably accept such as you still love Jesus & you feel closer to god (even though you're not, yes that's white lie). If you wanna express yourself, this forum is the place for you to do that. Slowly and gradually help them into awakening slow and steady. Sooner you'll find that all these actions are an act of love instead of just feeling sick.
be strong!

BlackWolf, patience is important and this has to be handled very carefully.
My sister, my bro-in-law & my 13 years old niece are jws. I didn't really care about my sister's belief as she's already in her middle age so she should be able to think for herself. The one i worried most is my niece. I am one of the person she look up to and we can talk about almost anything. I sometimes make fun of their religion and she can still let that go because I'm her favorite uncle. Anyway those were just small jokes. But there was once I talked a lil bit more about TTATT to her and she suddenly asked me to stop talking, and told me not to talk to her in that way in the future. I Immediately realized that this method will never work. It will only make things worse. It is important to maintain a good relationship and it is important that she will still listen to me in the future.
I also realized that even if it works and if she managed to realized TTATT, it will be very difficult for her to face it alone especially at her age. She still has to depend on her parents and the three of'em are staying so far from us(me & my family all non-jw). So I gotta switch plan.
BlackWolf, no matter what you say, don't risk breaking the good relationship between you and your sis. Make sure you guys can still talk. Lets work together. The least we can do now is try to delay her baptize. Some friends here mentioned about Jesus isn't baptized until he's 30. So imitate Jesus!

I don't want the Watchtower's version of paradise.
by StarTrekAngel ini am writing this in the hopes that it may help someone in a debate.
i personally have not had a chance to discuss it with anyone but that is true for most other topics.
i think is a good one to analyze.

I'm really very curious about how their paradise really looks like coz there's always many question marks pop up in my head when looking at their illustrations. Dolphins coming to the shores? Surfing while there are kids diving below? Really? -

After growing a bit older and having the opportunity to travel more and learn more about the different habitats, I've realized one thing... I love this paradise just the way it is!!!. I would not change it a bit. I visited some beautiful places more than once and I've realized that they look so much different in each season. I've also realized that some of the natural forces that we may call "destructive" are also the drivers of change. The change they bring about can also be beautiful. They impact the land as much as they impact the biodiversity of the area.
StarTrekAngel, but the WT also says 'avoid love for the world' in w15 5/1510 Satan is “the ruler of this world,” and it is lying in his power. (John 12:31; 1 John 5:19) Therefore, much of what this world promotes runs counter to the standards set forth in the Bible. Of course, not everything the world offers is evil. However, we should expect that Satan would use his world to exploit our desires and try to induce us to sin or to develop love for the world and neglect our worship of Jehovah.—Read 1 John 2:15, 16.
11 Evidently, love for the world affected some first-century Christians. For example, Paul wrote: “Demas has forsaken me because he loved the present system of things.” (2 Tim. 4:10) The Bible does not specifically say what aspect of the world Demas loved, causing him to abandon Paul. It could be that Demas began to love material things more than spiritual pursuits. If that was the case, Demas missed out on thrilling spiritual privileges—and for what? Could the world possibly offer Demas anything that would surpass the blessings Jehovah could give him as an associate of Paul?—Prov. 10:22.
Science tells us that many beautiful natural habitats has a violent past. The Himalayas was formed from a massive collision between Indian Plate & the Eurasian Plate. Almost everything in the universe have gone through a rough, violent & disastrous process in their formation. However the god promoted by the WT can make it in a few clicks. They say paradise is perfection but in my opinion, I think paradise is imbalance from a scientific view. And of course what they will say next is we are now living in an imperfect world and it is difficult for us to understand the concept of perfection. What a cult

I watched Mr. Jackson last night with my super cult minded parents
by Magwitch ini have seen some ask on this site how the active jw's are handling what is happening in australia.
here is my little experience from last night........ my parents were baptized in the late 30's as children and have never faltered in their determination to survive the great tribulation and live forever in paradise (even though they actively associate with all their df'ed kids).
my father is still actively serving as an elder and my mother has always been by his side.

Thank you Magwitch, that was wise. Good thing is the children are Df'd and your parents still keep in touch with'em and live happily.
thanks ron rawson for sharing your experience. I do believe as well folks will eventually realize those were craps. It's just that they have been doing it for too many years until it became habit. Habit dies hard.

Preparing for Friday's Feeding Frenzy
by Esse quam videri inmany hundreds and perhaps thousands of people, worldwide, are eagerly waiting for the questioning of geoffrey jackson at the australian royal commission on institutional response to child abuse.
this is the day that many have hungered for.
finally, a member of the governing body being questioned and compelled to make full disclosure, to the best of his knowledge, the very best of his knowledge.
