  Witnesses Now for Jesus Convention ...Oct. 15,16,17.

  i attended this convention for 3 yrs in the mid 80's...its been 20+ yrs already.. i googled ...and found a dozen websites for info...it is great to see the convention going strong.. .

  this convention and these people helped me understand the wt...and helped me to deal with my family with peace and love.... an amazing group of christ-like apostates....warm, friendly, non-judgemental...all about helping people get to freedom.. .

  please share any experience, thoughts, questions....-bh.

  Question about an elder visit at home...

  last meeting my father was asked what a good day/time would be for the whole family to be present at home by one of the elders.

  i haven't exactly been behaving within jw 'standards' so i'm a bit paranoid (sn ;]) a friend suggested it's probably just the visits they do (forget the name in eng.

  ) and as our co visit is in about 2 weeks it makes sense.... could they possibly be coming to confront me about my actions though?

  The Blood Issue broke my Dad's heart....

  the "jw charged...thread" reminded me of a story in our family...the wt blood rule slammed our family.. .

  i was at college...my mom became very interested in jw...and started taking the kids to kingdom hall.. dad was very hard working, thought mom was taking kids to a new church....sounds like a good thing.. then lots of strange things started happening...no more birthday parties...christmas ...easter ...july 4th....no flag, pledge, military, voting...etc,etc.. my dad was an american patriot...navy pilot...business man...all around john wayne good guy.

  loved my mother deeply.. .

  Dad was very hard working, thought mom was taking kids to a new church....sounds like a good thing.

  My Dad was an American patriot...navy pilot...business man...all around John Wayne good guy. Loved my mother Deeply.

  There was one big problem...we were raised Lukewarm Lutherans , and didn't know the Bible.

  Thus...the JW doctrine was able to creep in our family.

  When my Dad learned the "WT teaching on Blood"....he contacted his attorney on the matter.

  I was home from school...and in a private time with my Dad...he told me what he had to do with his attorney

  to protect the Kids in the event they got into an accident and needed a blood transfusion...

  Then he said..."I had to do this...because Your Mother would let them Die..." He then broke down in tears.

  My Dad is a great man...he did not let the WT break up our family...he kept the peace and said everyone has the right to worship where they want.

  I give him great credit for holding the family together...but not knowing the Word..cost our family deeply.

  I will fight this Cult to the day I die...-BH

  Thanks big Mac for starting this thread...I know you've taken heat...but's that's good IMO...hope your Ok.

  I am fasinated by the Elders who post...I have tremendous respect for all of YOu!

  I'm starting to understand the issues you all face...important issues ie family etc.

  I think Jehova celebrates everytime an Elder wakes up and has the guts to oppose the Cult from the inside.

  Sharing on this forum encourages people...I have two bigshot elder brothers...they call me the family JESUS FREAK ...guilty as charged!

  You elders and all Jdubs on this forum give me hope for my family. Thank you.

  yes folks, i heard it at the meeting this week...again.

  the sm included a local needs part and this was the subject - family worship night.. apparently, regarding fwn, that time was never, nor now is, ours.

  Something about...Gravatar website...good luck ...I watched him punch a bunch of buttons...and tipped him 20 bucks.

  newsmaxs magazine just published an article that the watchtower is the most read magazine out there it evens surpasses time.. i have never heard of newmaxs but i just was emailed this and thought you might find it interesting.
