Your peers may believe in evolution or in various false religious doctrines salvation is dependent on being part of an organization because othersthe Governing Body the faithful slave has told them that this is what they should believe. However, you can rise above such thinking when it comes to your own beliefs. Remember, Jehovah wants you to serve him with your whole mind.

I just came across this and was about to post it.
I still don't understand why they're suing. Did they sue other news shows that did stories on JW/unbaptized publisher murderers? Is it because of the situation in Armenia? What's the deal?
This is interesting http://www.panarmenian.net/eng/politics/news/11702/ARMENIAN_APOSTOLIC_CHURCH_CALLS_CONGREGATION_TO_SPIRITUAL_STRUGGLE
The Supreme Spiritual Council confirmed its adherence to Christian values such as freedom of conscience, however stating inadmissible the situation with the registration of the religious organizations, the activities of which violate the RA legislation as well as freedom of conscience within their own organization. The activities of totalitarian sects including Jehovah's Witnesses not only conflict with spiritual values of the Armenian people but also violate the bill "On freedom of Conscience" and human rights such as children's rights, rights referring to public health, etc.

Being raised a JW sure did give us some odd memories did it not?
by sabastious ini remember a few times when my mother would speak of "grandma weeping herself to sleep every memorial night.
" this was because her husband was of the "heavenly hope.
" she knew that she was to be without her soulmate for eternity in the new world.

Personally, I'd much rather have the memories. At least it's something of that person. A friend of mine is going through this, her mom started partaking last year.
I remember my mom's reaction when my df'd aunt sent her a certified letter with pictures of her kids in it. She was so upset, she called my dad to meet her at the post office. It was so strange to me, why she would react like that. She was pissed off she had to sign for it because my aunt would know she got it. It was like my aunt did something wrong, all she did was write to let her know how she and the kids were doing. Weird.

Simple explanation why "Anointed" # going up (from the CO)
by InterestedOne ini asked the co, if the heavenly calling was closed in 1935, why is the number of anointed going up?
he simply said that the society no longer says when the heavenly calling was closed.
have they discarded the 1935 teaching?

I think this video covers it pretty well and also shows why the CO's explanation is insufficient. If more JW's start to notice this, they'll have to make the number symbolic or print more articles about how some are probably mistaken or frauds. Shutting up the kingdom of heaven...

Child Abuse At The Meetings
by Hairyhegoat inplease read and i will tell you now this was it was like for me !.
kingdom halls are a hellish memory for me.
i grew up as a jehovah's witness from the age of 9 until i fought my way to freedom at age 18. i recall children as young as a year old being beaten repeatedly for not sitting still during services...some sessions, called assemblies, were 6 hours long and lasted for 3-5 days in succession.. my nephew was one of many who felt the literal sting of the watchtower's stance of "spare the rod, spoil the child.

If we fell asleep during a meeting, we had to stand at our chair until the song.
This is something I avoid thinking about or even talking about. I don't think I had the worst of it, by no means. But I just can't imagine putting my daughter through the same. And it hurts to think my parents did it, and thought it was best for us. Honestly, I'm getting pissed off that anyone would even defend this. I'm taking a break.

DY,
There's a world of difference between an animated cartoon and listening to an adult speak in a monotone about things you're not concerned about in the least.
and yes, if the parents are smart about it, they'll find better ways. But apparently our experiences were not unique. So where did all of our parents get this idea from? And again why is there nothing like a Sunday school for children? Something that will engage them and keep their attention. Go sit in on a kindergarten class. Is that anything like a hall meeting?? Why is that?
