Jam,
I've got three friends that quit with chantix and are still quit years later. It's expensive though, unless your insurance covers it. Someone else I know quit by carrying a bag of carrot sticks around with them, almost like a cig but healthier.
My new year's resolution was to quit, I lasted 5 whole days. I'm proud of that since it was my first try, I didn't use any replacement though. My next plan is to start with the patch and walk, do yoga, or drink water until a craving passes. I seriously can't afford these anymore either. And I tried to go jogging this morning, lasted about a minute before I had to walk. I'm 25! I am so out of shape, it's pathetic.
We beat the WT cult, surely we can beat this.

The Generation Atop The Skyscraper
by TD inone of the most famous photographs taken by the late charles c ebbets showed workmen casually eating lunch on the 69th floor of the ge building during the contruction of rockefeller center.
this photo was taken 76 years ago, in the summer of 1932. a lot has changed since then.
many of the buildings you see below don't exist anymore.

Watchtower "Birth of a Nation" article
by VM44 inthe watchtower published a controversial article in the 1920s entitled "birth of a nation.
" this article published for the first time the belief now held by the jehovah's witnesses that god's kingdom was established in the heavens in the years 1914/18.
does anyone know if this article is on the internet somewhere?

The big bad "worldly" person
by roxanesophia inconsidering this looks to be mostly a ex-jw site, you're probably thinking "coming into it?
run.
" but i have friends in it who have persuaded me to have a bible study and attend meetings, and well, hey... it isn't doing me much harm.
-
DanaBug
is this how the "worldly ones" are treated? Are JW's encouraged to keep their distance from someone who isn't yet baptized?
Yes.
Watchtower 1994 Feb 15 p.24
"We must also be on guard against extended association with worldly people. Perhaps it is a neighbor, a school friend, a workmate, or a business associate. We may reason, 'He respects the Witnesses, he leads a clean life, and we do talk about the truth occasionally.' Yet, the experience of others proves that in time we may even find ourselves preferring such worldly company to that of a spiritual brother or sister. What are some of the dangers of such a friendship?"http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/quotes/worldly-people.php
Maybe they think you're not progressing fast enough or have some ulterior motive, like being interested in a JW and studying just to get close to them. Take a look around this site, freeminds.org, and jwfacts.com and learn about the other side of this religion. The decision is up to you ultimately, but I recommend you get far away from it. If you get baptized, there's no easy way to leave. Their god is small, petty, vindictive, and monstrous not something you'd really want to spend eternity worshipping.

My Study Conductor Jumped Ship - Any Possible Explanations?
by InterestedOne inmy study conductor has informed me that he & his wife are switching to a foreign language congregation that is far away from the territory they live in (it will involve a lot of driving back & forth).
because he is switching congregations, he said he will not have the energy to devote to my study and recommended another brother who could take over, and i have met him.
however, this change happened simultaneously with a decision i have made.

I think it's a coincidence, it's not likely he switched congregations because of a bible study. My parents did this when I was about 11. Foreign language territory is much more exciting, people actually respond. The usual english territory in the US is really apathetic and they work a lot and have their own churches. Also, foreign language, in my experience, puts you out there more as there aren't as many people in the group. It's harder to fade if you're in a smaller group. What language are they switching to?

from a Yahoo e-mail group, the pot calling the kettle black, o'boy
by therevealer init's not the fault of the people who believe it but those that teach it.
false religion teaches people nonsense and since their flocks know nothing about the bible, they don't know how to reason such teachings from the scriptures.
anything that doesn't make sense, like this subject or the trinity, they're told that's where faith comes in.

Well, I have to now. Are you sitting down? I'm pretty anonymous here so I feel comfortable sharing......... I wiki-ed it, lol!
I was thinking one night about virgins and fornication and the Bible and my first time and I thought, wait are humans the only ones who have hymens? What purpose do they serve? I still don't know what purpose they serve, there's speculation though.
Whales have them too. And...I'll leave you with that...

Blind, yep. Would this mean JWs don't need faith because all their beliefs are "reasoned from the scriptures"?
That is the nonsense false religion spends it's time trying to figure out then teaches it's members who figure, "well, they're the educated ones, they must know."
LMAO!
Btw, did you know humans aren't the only mammal that has a hymen? I didn't know that until a couple weeks ago.
