Got the contract
by LouBelle innow i just have to sign on the dotted line and drop it off and i shall once again be in the permanent job field.
i won't be earning a huge amount by any means but it is enough to cover my bills and to save a little bit.
this does give me that relief of finances coming in, of course i'll be keeping my ears and eyes open for better opportunities, but that being said i shall embrace this new opportunity with open arms and eagerness.. it's been a hellofa tough year people - hellofa tough.

HELP!!! Need Contacts in Portland-Gresham Oregon
by Juan Viejo2 ina very special request for help - not money - just information!!!.
i normally would not ask this kind of a favor, but this really is important.. i am working with portland area investigators and journalists who are doing research on the whitney heichel /jonathan holt murder case and one other case involving other serious criminal activity.
they are particularly interested in anyone who might have attended kingdom halls in or around gresham and might know some of the members, former jws, or other related contacts in that area.. if you are from that area, or have connections there, please contact me via pm.

Preppers and prepping.... thoughts?
by EntirelyPossible inwhat do you guys think of preppers?
i have been watching doomsday preppers on natgeo (it's just a trainwreck, i can't stop watching) and while those guys are a joke, i think have a few weeks worth of supplies and water on had is a good idea (tornadoes, hurricane, freak snow/ice storm, etc.).
however, prepping years worth of food, 5000 rounds of ammo per gun, building a fortified bunker.... what for?

Why even bother to have a candle and an extra can of soup? We have FEMA!

It is a little more than "stirring up crap", shadow.
It is very likely that the elders knew that the murderer was a loose cannon, possibly having dealt with some of his illegal sexual problems in the past.
They are now circling the wagons. This post is an effort to expose the JW policy of concealing criminals.
We were the victims of a cover up of an individual who the elders knew was a threat but did not warn us.

It is truly a "Dog & Pony" Show !
by Pitchess Co-Gen inmy bother ( who i don't really talk too because of a different issue with him ) and i got disfellowshipped on the same day ( 2/28/09 ).
ive been pretty inconstant when it comes to meeting attendance ( i haven't been in more than six months ), while ever sence my brother and his wife had a baby he's been super regular at the meeting ( nine months straight without missing one meeting !).
when he turned in his reinstatement letter ( by the way he moved to a new congregation ).

If you are DF'd for any form of apostasy or disagreement with JC decisions, you can forget about reinstatement. As Quendi put it so well, it is an ego driven power trip and if you had any personal friction with the elders they will make you crawl for years.

OCB - Preppers also know to buy a few pairs of pants that are a few sizes too big. That way, it will appear that they are losing weight, even though they really have food to eat.
Kind of like Hansel and Gretel and the blind witch! LOL
"Let me feel your finger!" said the witch to Hansel every day to check if he was getting any fatter. Now, Gretel had brought her brother a chicken bone, and when the witch went to touch his finger, Hansel held out the bone.
"You're still much too thin!" she complained. When will you become plump?" One day the witch grew tired of waiting. -

Fall of Giants---Ken Follet
by ldrnomo inone of the most freeing things i've been able to do since fading from the watchtower's tendril like grasp is, "read what i want to" i particularly enjoy historial novels because they entertain and inform all at the same time.
i'm just finishing the first of a trilogy "fall of giants" and there was a paragraph that made me think of the great influence of propaganda machines (probably because i was so influenced by the watchtower) i am hugely aware of it's power to lead people all over the place like the waves of the sea i suppose.. here is the paragraph:.
maud knew the proprietor of the mail, lord northcliffe.

Practical jokes can be fun if the object of the joke thinks it's funny too.
There is a thread here that links a candid camera type prank filmed in Brazil where people were enclosed in an elevator, the lights went out, and when they came on, a creepy character was standing there. I would like to kick everyones ass who was involved in these pranks. Not funny.

I've had a few confrontations in my life. I was always on the defense, never offense, but I made it clear I was ready to go, if that was the deal. They backed off everytime. On one occasion I was very dissapointed because I wanted to kick their ass. It helped that a big elder, my uncle, pinned my arms behind me.
Such was my youth. Today, I try not to piss anyone off unless they are over 80 and female. Even then it's best to just cop a Sunday and run.
LOL
