  A brother heard that I was having a hemorroid problem. He very seriously recommended I use a clove of garlic as a suppository.

  Next time I saw him I mentioned that I didn't have any garlic but that I had tried a spring onion. He didn't get my dry sense of humor and looked stunned.

  I've read that pigs are more intelligent than many other species. Reminds me to read up again. I love learning more about the real world and the creatures in it.

  PS If you want a mind blower read up on the orchid flower and its adaptability. There are some great documentaries also.

  Remember the theory of the Butterfly Effect ? You know, your car had a flat on the way to the airport and you missed the flight that crashed.

  Life is a huge pinball game in many ways, but individual choices are still vital if one is to have any control at all.

  How interesting to speculate on the policy that Trayvon's school adopted in cahoots with law enforcement. They ignored the obvious direction his life was going for their own individual interests. They swept his problem under the rug. If he had been involved in some sort of juvenile offender program for the burglary offense he may never had encountered GZ that night.

  Well Glander I disagree with you. I work with guys with criminal histories, I know they can be helped. I am certain a kid like Treyvon could have grown up and turned out alright with a few things going his way from the adult world.

  We don't disagree with this at all.

  I was addressing what actually happened. These young men you are trying help are living in a dangerous lifestyle. Everyone would like to see them get out of it and have a good life.

  Good luck and sincere best wishes for what you are doing. If you can influence just one to change his course it is worth it.

  designs - Out of sincere infection for you I would say please stop digging. Your post above is so completely out of touch with the reality of what happened that I am kind of embarrassed for a fellow geezer.

  GZ did not know who he was observing. He did not have a copy of the written profile that you feel should have influenced him.

  He was not obsessed with carrying a gun. He had not pulled it from the holster and didn't until he had a broken nose, the bigger guy was on top and was dribbleing his skull on the pavement and felt him going for his weapon.

  How invested are you in this open and shut case?

  Wait for something real to spend your credibility on.

  The benefit in tourist dollars alone is astounding. They offer stability to the people, and a sense of belonging and history to the English.

  Well said. British Royalty is a lucrative dog and pony show and it helps to bring in a new pony once in awhile.

  Now, how about the US media giving a fraction of their coverage to the Obama appointee who gave the IRS the order to f--k with the Tea Party, patriot, groups within 36 hours after his private White House meeting that went on for 3 hours? All this began before the 2012 election and continues.

  Balanced news or just distraction from real issues?

  maybe, you like some aspects of it and not others.. my favorite tv hates are 'news', and commercials.

  i always mute the commercials.

  It's all been downhill since The Man Show and Most Extreme Elimination Challenge were cancelled.

  If I'm not mistaken these two shows were combined into "Man vs Food".
