A fellow elder in our cong. was a heck of a nice guy and was genuinely caring to the older folks in the cong. But we all knew that he pretty much skipped over the deep " new light' or any complex WT doctrines. He could not explain how to 'splain the 607-1914 math, for example.
Once, out of brotherly love, a couple of us cornered him and ask him to explain the Gog/Magog teaching. He stammered and hemmed and hawed until we broke out laughing and told him it was the best explaination we had ever heard. Then he joined in the laugh.

I suggest your start working on being independant. I know you are too young to have to worry about it, but that is why they are bringing on the pressure.
Think of Baptism as signing a binding contract. After that, your ass belongs to them.
it's a well known phenomenon i've observed from jwn, my own cos. a new co we had once who was fresh from being a normal elder and after a couple of visits he said, "well i've finally become a true co...i now have food intolerances.".
i mean, only once did my husband and i ever have a co around for dinner and they couldn't eat this, he couldn't eat that, she couldn't eat this...it was so hard to cook something with none of the zillions of things they were 'allergic' to.. and then after all that the wife couldn't come anyway because she had a naturopath appointment or something.. why do all co's seem to have weird dietary problems?.

I think JWs in general have a weakness for natureopathic fads. CO's and wives have very little control over their diets. Having some individual food quirks is one of the last bastions of individualilty. A few glasses of wine also helps.
The original Awake, the Golden Age, almost always had an article on food/health issues. My Grandma considered using aluminum cooking utensils a disfellowshipping offense.

She made it convenient by selling the very herbal concoction you needed. She would frequently be seen before and after the meeting holding someones jaw to tilt there head up to the light so she could diagnose their prob.
