from my place of forgetting, and out of my utter despair and loneliness, i tap out my pathetic message desperately hoping that there is someone, anyone that might possibly hear ... .

During the tour of Warwick Castle in the UK you are led down a steep, low ceilinged, staircase into dungeon. It is claustrophobic and very grim. However, that is not the worst of it. In an alcove off the main chamber there is a small iron strap cage door about 3" square at floor level. Inside is a dim lightbulb revealing a hole carved into the stone that would be just large enough for a full size person to fit into, taking a fetal position.

"This is the last goddamn torture chamber I am going to tour on this trip!", I told me wife. (We had previously toured the Tower of London). I still get the willies just thinking about all these years later.

If that is how you describe your present life situation I can only say that you MUST escape even if you have to chew your leg off.

aargh just shoot me, my wife just came home from field service bi&*&ing about her friends inactive/faded husband.

the thing is he and his wife use the excuse that he is sick from irratable bowel syndrome.

however he works 50+ hours a week.

BU2 - What is your background in the JW? Born in ? baptized at puberty? etc. If so, I think you have every right to leave with dignity as an adult who has "witnessed" X years of Watchtower double speak and failed doctrine.

I left in '82. Nothing they taught then is still the 'truth' today!

ahhh, the old slow fade with a devout mate! What a perfect way to be miserable. Not that I am not sympathetic, I am. But this topic is not one I can be too objective about. As discussed here many times, each person has to decide what to do when it dawns on them that the religion is a sinkhole in your life. You can throw everything into it you want, spouse, family, education, etc etc. But you will never fill it up.

Generally speaking, I say cut clean.

Avoiding it by having 5 beers is not a real strategy.
