How many JW pedofiles do you personally know?
by oldlightnewshite ini was just thinking that out of the 200 jws that i actually know, at least 4 of them to my knowledge are pedophiles.
i know for a fact, through personal confidences.
that means, as far as my circle of jovo friends/acquaintances goes, 2% of them are kiddy fiddlers.. without mentioning names or details, how many do you know of for a certainty to be pedos, and what percentage does it work out at, considering all your circle of jovo friends?.

Jemba, that is extreme! Are they all from different congregations? How many JWs do you know in total? I'm interested in what percentage they work out at from your acquaintances?
Cedars should post a questionnaire about this very subject. For all we know the prevalence of pedophilia in the congregations could be much higher than we think. Most people seem to be saying they know far more JW pedos than 'worldly'!

Forgot to say, One of my list of 4 was a 'sister' who abused her son. Anybody encountered that? I imagine it's pretty rare.

As far as my circle of 'worldly' friends/acquaintances goes, I know only 1 pedo. And I have far more worldly friends than Jovos.
This is both sad, and worrying.... if you're still a JW.

List of Prominent JW Urban Legends...

i'm wondering if you all could help me with my next video that i want to put up in the next couple of days (though i'm hoping for tonight), i want to come up with a list of the most prominent urban legends surrounding jws and then refute them whatever they may be.. i'm thinking there's the urban legend about the question on jeopardy that said the nwt was the most accurate would be a good one.
that one stems from an online powerpoint presentation named theological jeopardy and a book which was written comparing six different translations of the bible.

Heard one about a broke-ass JW couple (that narrows it down) who were about to lose their house because they couldn't make a mortgage payment or somesuch nonsense. The congregation all prayed for them, and as the rest were all broke-ass, this should suffice (instead of making a collection). The young dub couple owed £276.98. The day they were to be evicted they received a rebate for something in the post. How much was it? £276.98! Jehovah works in mysterious ways! Wooooh!
Heard another good bullshit story, which is my personal favourite.
An old sickly brother goes to field circus meeting, and complains he doesn't feel so well. A new publisher says not to worry, and that he'll finish off the few houses on this old guy's map. He suggests the old guy goes home to bed. The new dub goes and does this map, and when he knocks on the last door, a shifty looking chap invites him in, saying he wants a bible study. The fresh dub walks into the kitchen, and is surrounded by a gang of baseball bat-weilding thugs who say they are going to teach him a lesson for annoying them every week. The new dub puts the whole lot of them in the hospital. Turns out he was a 5th Dan in Tae-Kwon-Do before he found the 'truth', and opened a can of whup-ass on them. Jehovah saved an old git, and sorted out some evil worldlings in the process.
I hear the sister with the 2 angels story so often it makes me want to puke.
I think the Sparlock video will probably spawn a whole load of new evil toy urban legends among the jittery dubs.......groan

Is their a slackening off / lack of zeal in the witnessing work that I am observing or is it just the area I`m living in
by smiddy inlast saturday i was home with my wife,having a leisurely brekky pottering around in the kitchen ,then i noticed her standing still pondering ,what`s up i asked , wife :i thought i heard someone knocking ,i looked out the window to see two middle aged guys exciting my front drive.why didn`t you tell me they were their,i didn`t hear them.
i would have engaged them in conversation , but my wife doesn`t think i ought to,just let it go ,is her motto.. but my point is : i`m not deaf , and i didn`t hear them at the door , we were both in the front room ,my wife only thought she heard someone at the door only to be proved right observing them leaving i was in my pj`s and dressing gown so was not going to pursue them.
we have been living here nearly 5 years now and i can honestly say they have never been on our doorstep more than 4 times if that , i personally have only encountered them 3 times at the most.

I haven't seen a witless in FS for maybe 3 years, either at home or driving about. They visit me still, but don't knock or ring, just leave me firelighters in the post box. I saw a Joey the other week, who had taken a job selling vacuums door-to-door, and I told him all about the recent scandals. He left my door after not putting up much of a fight, with a thousand- yard stare. He seemed totally beat. My JW family don't want to get into discussions with me about the contoversies at all. 20 years ago they would've been full of crazy batshit JW zeal. WTB$ is a spent force in my opinion now. I think the religion is finished in the developed world. I think it'll just slowly fizzle out. I wonder when they'll decide not to be so anal about printing yearly figures for everything.

it came straight from the bethel representative.
i was in the administration department when i heard him say it.. part of the reason for this according to him will be to reduce distribution cost as it would be virtually eliminated in countries like the u.s, canada.

by jwfacts inmy mother lives a plane trip away from me, so does not get to spend very much time with zac.
however, she is in sydney for 3 weeks and has been babysitting.
i knew that she would be talking about jehovah, but was very annoyed yesterday when zac said my mother was speaking all day about jehovah, such as how he made the stars.. in the past, i was not overly concerned if zac learnt about jehovah's witnesses, as i thought it would help with critical thinking skills to understand different points of view.
