My mother is trying to indoctrinate my 4 year old and I do not know what to do
by jwfacts inmy mother lives a plane trip away from me, so does not get to spend very much time with zac.
however, she is in sydney for 3 weeks and has been babysitting.
i knew that she would be talking about jehovah, but was very annoyed yesterday when zac said my mother was speaking all day about jehovah, such as how he made the stars.. in the past, i was not overly concerned if zac learnt about jehovah's witnesses, as i thought it would help with critical thinking skills to understand different points of view.

one i didn't ask until years after leaving was....who designed disease?

Bible Students - have you spoken with them or attended their meetings?
by JWStruggle inthe bible students are very friendly and loving people and i recently attended a convention of theirs.. i was wondering if many on here have had dealings with them?
i do not think i am ready to join any organized religious group ever again, but they are welcoming and sincere and i do like many of the things russell taught.
he certainly wouldn't have stood for what rutherford did to the wtbts.. .

We had some in our territory. I found some of their teachings a bit crazy, and used to walk away from the door scratching my head. They used to be very open and eager to discuss doctrine and prophecy. Our elders used to tell us to avoid talking to them, but I used to think they've got just as much right to the message as everybody else, etc... I honestly thought there weren't very many of them left, as they were all quite old.

Well, it's official, I am a rabid, mentally diseased Apostate!
by serenitynow! inso an apostabuddy wanted to stage a silent protest at the assembly hall where she was baptized.
we went today.
the plan was to wear these apostate t-shirts that had stuff printed on them about thinking for yourself, and a bunch of websites.

Hi, Yeah, I did point out to them that the Watchtower doesn't actually do any charitable works, in the way that most people would define it. I said that their fundraising paid for the printing of cultish drivel. I said that they don't actually do any good works in the community, other than recruitment, which isn't a good work, as it benefits nobody.
I suppose I could start a religion and call it 'Muslim brotherhood against the Kuffar infidel'. By their definition, the mere fact that it would obviously be a religious organization would merit tax breaks. Good old Blighty, eh?
My fellow apostates, we need to be more vocal. Recently in Italy a group of ex-Jovos demonstrated outside parliament complaining about the treatment of disfellowshipped ones, and that the WTB$ splits families.
Maybe most ex-JWs just feel idiots publicly proclaiming that they used to be in a messed-up cult...
