Thank you guys. I swear the "apostate and discreet slave" always gives the proper food at the proper time. The elders called me friday night, and I hung up the phone. You see I changed my voicemail to the automatic message just in case someone calls me who i do not want to talk to and I want them to think they might have the wrong number. When my phone went off I answered hello how can I help you? Then the person said hello sister blank... I hung up the phone and cut it off right away... Well Sat I had a birthday party the first one ever, and tell me why when I was talking about them to my disassociated cousin they was at my front door.. speaking of the devil.. I told my husband to tell them I was busy (who is not a witness) and to hurry up and get rid of them as I was waiting for the other guest to arrive.. namely my cousin who has faded. Anyways come to find out they told my husband that my sister... yes my sweet old sister went to my old hall where I had left my card in the hope of fading and told them that she was worried about me and that I might need encouragement... ain't that some mess.. So she put me on their radar and she has the nerve to pretend that she did not do anything since I did not confront her. She feels guilty because she sent me a text asking me if I am ok and ect... she was getting a vibe that something is or was wrong... What a loser my husband says she is mentally ill and needs a man. I am so piss at my sister, for going to the elders. My husband told them that I will contact them when I am ready, which means never. I also live out the area, which was my excuse for leaving that hall, so they can waste their gas coming my house if they wnat, but no one will answer the door.

elders would like a talk with me
by varian inhi everyone.. i recently had a phone call from an elder of my former cong.
they would like to chat with me, and obviously want to encourage me to come back.. to make a long story short: the last 4 or five years i was a jw in their kh, i was more or less completly ignored.
had in that time no phone calls, visits or any interest how i felt etc.

Elder wants to do "other activities" with me
by InterestedOne ini'm fully aware that this is a cult, and i was waiting for the social elements to kick in.
so far, i have just been doing the "bible study," discussing doctrine, etc.
however, recently one of the elders said he wants to get together with me to do other activities.

Ha ha I will tell you exactly what it means, it means that now they are trying to help you draw ties and friendship to the people to the hall. They want you to feel like you belong, so before long you will be invited to "gatherings" yes I said it gatherings, not parties but little functions so that they will take the place of your "worldly friends", and you will have spritual friends as replacements. That is how they draw you in, and make you feel that they are interested in you, in and outside the hall.

I am watching America's Most Wanted and the guy that they are are looking for molested 17 girls from age 5 on up, and here is the sick kicker he was a Jehovah Witness. The show had a picture of the kingdom hall and several females who was molested by him said their story. Sad thing is that one women said that she would have trusted him around her kids because he was likeable and looked up to in the hall. I also think that he was an elder.

A Social Security question...
by coffee_black inthis has been nagging at me...and i think that tomorrow i'll call the ss office to find out for sure.. my jw xhusband recently started collecting ss.
he is 62. i was married to him for almost 20 years, and we filed taxes jointly.
we divorced in 1990. i don't think he paid much into ss if at all.. he had his own business.. and worked for others for short periods of time over the years.

My Dad's passing
by happyexjw inquite a while ago i wrote about my dad who has been living with prostate cancer for 13 years with secondry bone cancer for the last 2 years.
we all thought he was going to leave us back in april when he had a bad chest infection.
i was talking about wanting to be able to say some words at his funeral.
