I have a beautiful young niece who is going to University, although babtised she is figuring out this whole truth. It makes me happy to see the younger ones take care of their finances. I wish I could have a few years back to get ahead. i was at a 2 day circuit assembly this weekend and i was surprised at how many times mention was made directly or indirectly reminding those in attendance (1,600) of the need to give $$$.
even in the soliloquies or skits they seemed to work in the need to give $$$.. it made me wonder if the society is having 'cash flow' problems and hence is desparate for cash.
over the years that i've attended conventions and assemblies the need to give $$$ has been subtle (imo), til now.

the official wt understanding on where to park your butt during the meeting is to move around from meeting to meeting in order to get in more association or whatever but i never really saw things that way.
the kh seating arraingment at my hall went as follows;.
if you sat in the front you were really late or wanted to seem really spiritual.. the elders and pioneers always liked the same seats every meeting.. shiftless ones and those who wanted sympathy for thier back ailments would stand in the back during the talks.. ever had a sister in your hall bring in their own chair and footstool?.

well because i knew the questions would be the same on saturday as they were friday i was even more prepared.
my mom has this pattern of repeating the same questions over and over again...she will leave it for a few hours & then she will cycle them over again, but then ask more detail.. so saturday she calls me before i leave for home and now she is backpedalling her story.
she tells me that the elder's never said that they were going to disfellowship me, they just were counseling her that she should no longer be associating with me because i am bad association and have been seen with "him" (again with the him) and that his car has been seen parked there all the time.

on october 31, 2010 jehovah's witnesses elders lie when asked by charles huff, also a jehovah's witness, if they shun ex-members of the jehovah's witnesses' religion.
I have have been working/feeling out my sil for flipin MONTHS and last night I finally told her a good place to start on the internet is FREEMINDS. And while I got a chuckle outta this... crap why didnt I tell her jwfacts......agh funny vid for us....not so nice to help one come outta the Wt!

Twinkle Toes,Sir82 and Undercover bring up great points. Jehovahs People have to be "preped" to know how to give a fine wittness, and not bring up anything that doesnt sound "normal" in other words lie. JW refuse blood because of fear of disproval of Jehovah which would make them unworthy of resurection/living forever, and the fear of shunning in this life. Simple...yet sounds crazy and the WT KNOWS THIS!
I dont think most JW's get how prepped they are for what they should say, not what they really believe. Hmmm does this sound like an Org. run by lawyers or what. Just try to get a straight answer on any topic.....all you get is the preprogramed acceptable response.
