  anyone remember that?

  i learned to read on that book.there were some very disturbing images,like the earth opening up and people falling into it.like upside down ladies and hippies.id love to get a hold of one and peruse it with a friend and some herbal medicine.maybe there is one in the attic?anyway,that and the image of the snake talking to the beautiful,bare shouldered eve,who was holding an apple,made a big impression on me.any else have any faves from that book?is it still being used?.

  Even though I was not born in that time. (I'm a child of the 90's) I can recall pictures from What does God require of Us and I remember when I was younger reading Learn from the Great teacher remeber seeing that armageddon photo of what looks like New York go up in flames at the hands of God.My question is how can they have children seeing thise types of picures and they wonder why many ending up leaving later on.

  for all those here who who saw and may have met fred franz.what would he say about global warming, facebook twitter, the death of mitcahel jackson since mitchael was a witness.what would he say about lady gaga, justin biber, usher and emeniem.how do you think he would have reacted to the events of 9/11 and bible prophecy.would he see it as true signs of the end.. so the overall question how would fred franz respond to the 21 st century with it's advanved technolgy and war on terrorism and the economic crisis that this country (the u.s) is facing.please tell us your thoughts..

  I think Good old Freddie would the War on Terror as true signs of the times.He would faint at seeing the 9/11 attacks and try to pinpoint it bible prophecy.He probably would see lady Gaga as the prostitute of babylon the great.He would see the crisis we are having in the middle east as true signs that Armageddon can only be a few years.I say personally all that is going on with the economic crisis and th war and global warming hw would be too giddy with excitement as seeing it all as bible prophecy.You have to remember that in the 1960's they were saying 1975 was going to be the end.That convinced many people because at that time you had the cold war, The Vietnamwar, Antiwar protests, Civil rights movement.In other countries were fighting for indenpence.I was reading one time for my class how in the 1960's Algeria was having some civil conflict.Many of the Countries in Africa were having civil instability and many still are.Now if Fred Franz were alive today with what happend in Haiti with the earthquake, the earthquake in Chile, and the BP oil spill over the summer.Fred would try tieing it into prophecy and saying the world only a few more years.Give me a break.I think he would still be giving dates of when the world would end.

  I remember hearing talks when I was Younger about taming sexual urges.For me I always left out not being to date any good looking girls in school.The sexual repression has affected in many ways but I think I am bringing out of my shell with the opposite sex.Just remember one day at a time.

  how many in your cong had nervous breakdowns?

  of the congregation i spent my life in i would say a good 75% had nervous breakdowns at some point.

  and often there was never really a obivous reason for it.

  well not that we jw's could understand at the time.. even the queen bee's/ elderettes were not immune to this.. what about you?.

  I know of two people who had nervous breakdowns, alot of people in my congreation were either suffering from depression or anxiety.I know one person who had to spend a few days in a mental hospital.The stressful life of a Jw can anybody go crazy.I guess I was lucky that I did not end up like my two friends who both had nervous breakdowns

  Creepy Talks

  do any of you remeber any talks that were creepy in nature.for example i remember a talk where a brother said "when the end comes your friends and family will be against you" now if that is not crazy i don't know what is.i remember alot of talks regarding bible prophecy and the end times.all of this did not help reinforce the sense of fear since it was 2007-2008 and the united states was going through a recession.this just proved to be fuel for their talks.give good experiences of any talks that you have had that proved to be either weird or very creepy..

  i am new here i have posted only a couple of times.i still an nervous though.

  i left the witness in 2008 and am still struggling with my belief syestem .although i am now reading richard dawkins the god delusion which by the way is a really good book i am already in chapter 2.so here i am new and unsure, if i should be on this site or not..

  The saddest most depressing movie I ever see was the movie Johnny got his Gun the movie is about a world war 1 solider who has his legs and arms blown off by a mortar bomb shell.He is inside into his own mind which becomes his own personal hell.Thar movie will have you rethinkng the whole purpose of war.That movie if he does not depress you must have a heart of stone.That movie in the end made me sad and angry and made feel like this insanity we call war wll never end.
