  i was talking to my brother about a video that i saw about african genocide, and in the video this doctor that i listened to was saying based on his research he predicts that africans in different regions of africa will be scaled back by about 50% by the year 2052 (due to aids, food storages, etc).

  my brother gave me a drive home from work and we were talking about this.

  he said that we wont have to worry about that cause 2052 is never going to happen.

  This so true we live in better times now than most people in the past.I remeber doing a college paper on the black death during the dark ages.Times were truly rough then.We do not have whole cities walled in.Those that lived during WW1 and WW2 had it rough we do not.

  I often mention the past ad how much more violent it was and the Jw's say to me that well things are much worse now.In the west which includes the U.S and Europe these countries have freedom of speech and religion.The witness that live in the U.S do not appreciate their freedoms and take them for granted.

  They have the nerve to say that things are getting worse.When they can enjoy food,shelter and a roof over their head.While people in other countries are living in squalid conditions.

  jdubs are fond of quoting peter "where are we to go lord"... well the answer for me has been this forum for last couple of years which is really sad because i should be able to talk to my lifelong friends instead of faceless avatars.

  ( don't get me wrong this place has helped me through some really rough times mentally kudos to terry, cedars,slimboyfat, blondie,jwfacts and many others.).

  the shun gun has prevented me from making the move completely out of this cult i have given my life to.

  i notice reported in a number of posts that this seems to a bit of a mantra with the dubbies now, more so than ever in the past.. is this because they are getting desperate for the life they live as jw's to change ?

  they don't really want to end their days with the constant drudgery of the jw life still going on, they want something different, but must "wait on jehovah".

  sigh.. i wonder if this is a small opportunity for us to sow some small, niggling doubt, why not ask, when they spew out the "it is soooo close" nonsense:.

  When ever witness tell me how bad things are. I will say this is nothing compared to WW2 or the dark ages. I usally get a blank stare.Some just do not get it.

  Memorial Day.... still struggling with the idea of war and support

  so i do respect and am very greatful for the sacrifies those who dedicated their family, lives, etc.

  to defend our freedom, lives, and land, but if we lived in a world where we lived as monks or jehovah's witnesses (basicly just the practise of no war).... would that be wrong?.

  what's a good lesson or level of reasoning when supporting the idea of war?.
