The great poet Maya Angelou passes
by designs inher life embodied how the human spirit can rise from crushing conditions to mentor, role model and teacher.. she went mute for 5 years after being raped at the age of 9. in that time she found her inner spirit to write and speak for others.. her life course went from working in brothels to teaching in universites.
from broken home to addressing the nation at william clinton's inaugeration.. her poems touched millions of lives.
i know why the caged bird sings; on the pulse of morning; a brave and startling truth:.

JWs in a frenzy!
by leaving_quietly inanyone else get the distinct impression that jws are being worked up into a frenzy with all the changes and activity nowadays?
by the end of august, there will have been four campaigns inside of a year.
one last november, a memorial campaign, a convention campaign and an advertise jw.org campaign.. then there's the conventions with all the hooplah around that with all the video, and the aggrandizement of synchronized gb talks.

We need to learn that this world is the only and that our hatred will do us.Our children will look at us and wonder why we ruined the earth and essentially their lives.

Anyway, I kept walking and walking up Fifth Avenue, without any tie on or anything. Then all of a sudden, something very spooky started happening. Every time I came to the end of a block and stepped off the goddam curb, I had this feeling that I'd never get to the other side of the street. I thought I'd just go down, down, down, and nobody'd ever see me again. Boy, did it scare me. You can't imagine. I started sweating like a bastard – my whole shirt and underwear and everything. Then I started doing something else. Every time I'd get to the end of a block I'd make believe I was talking to my brother Allie. I'd say to him, "Allie, don't let me disappear. Allie, don't let me disappear. Allie, don't let me disappear. Please, Allie." And then when I'd reach the other side of the street without disappearing, I'd thank him. Then it would start all over again as soon as I got to the next corner. But I kept going and all. I was sort of afraid to stop, I think – I don't remember, to tell you the truth. I know I didn't stop till I was way up in the Sixties, past the zoo and all. Then I sat down on this bench. I could hardly get my breath, and I was still sweating like a bastard. I sat there, I guess, for about an hour. (25.8)
This is Holden’s rock-bottom, and you have to admit that he sounds pretty crazy here—like, he’s actually having a psychotic break. He says he’s “making believe,” but he’s “afraid to stop”—like the boundaries of reality and, well, madness are really starting to blur.
This is from schmoop website. I think we can all relate times in our life when we felt like going mad.

Do you believe there will be "Mass Suicides" within the BAC/JW community?
by booker-t inas a "therapist trainee"(still have to take my license test) i worry about all of the religious people out there who might commit suicide if the rapture/armaggeddon does not materialize.
what if the bible is proven to be "a big fairy tale" will born again christians(bac) and jws kill themself?
i worry about some of my older jw relatives that have waited for armaggeddon for 50 years and are still waiting.

relgion is nothing but one big ponzi scheme. Those in power know this and use it as tool of control.
