I do not think so.I do not believe in God because belief in an in nonexistant being who does not care about you is stupid. It is sad to think that it is the 21st century and peole still believe in primative God's.We are better than that.

Is Atheism a 'Personal Rebellion' Against God?
by leavingwt ini try to understand why other people believe what they believe.
the author discussed in the article below evidently wants to hide his head in the sand and paint all atheists with the same broad, incorrect brush.
it's as if he's never actually sat down with an atheist and had friendly conversation.. .

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

If you could choose one book to suggest to a JW...
by SweetBabyCheezits ini'm sure this isn't an uncommon question but i'll ask anyway.. suppose you had the chance to suggest one book, essay, article, or other writing with the goal of helping a loved one wake up... which one would it be?.
bear in mind the goal is to subvert the programmed hair-trigger defenses that cause a complete shutdown of critical thinking.
this automatically excludes anything that would directly place the wt society or its history in a negative light.

I would would suggest The God delusion By Richard Dawkins. A good book for anybody questiong the existence of God.God is only in our mere imaganations.

Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?
by brotherdan ini thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

Did you have higher ed when you were in? If so how were you treated as a result?
by highdose ini went to both collage and uni when i was a jw, i got marked and shunned as a result.
it seemed like every week there would be some dig made from the platform about " those that chose higher education" , my so called "freinds" were constandly on at me " why don't you pioneer highdose?!!".
i even had the ciruit overseer denounce me from the platform as being "spirtualy weak" never mind that most of the peers i grew up with had got themselves reproved or disfellowed and that i was the only who had been good!.

In 2008 before I left, a few people warned about higher education saying it be bad for my sprituality. Now look I am in a community college and will then transfer to a four year college.I hope this helps me in the long run.I want to get a high paying career and make alot of money. That would show those overly self righteous people.

Population 7 billion. Changes ahead.
by Lion Cask inaccording to the world population clock, we're going to hit the magic 7 billion number this year.
that's 7,000,000,000,000 living human beings on this planet.
the world is about to change, again.

Yes the population is increasing, we do have to find a way to decrease the booming population. This was a problem back in 1958 read Aldous Brave New World Revisited in it he talks about the problems of overpopulation.Just think we have scarce resources of water, and food .Most of the world is hungry and is figting for Food.Their were food riots in Algeria.Something needs to be done.
