  As A JW Were You Generally Feeling Guilty Over One Thing Or Another?

  i believe the witnesses keep people in the cult by means of using guilt as a tool.

  it seems people who leave the religion tend to stop using meds and anti-depressants.

  exjws seem more content and less filled with worry and guilt.. what do you think?.

  Yearning to be children

  i heard at quote at my graduation in 2008 from high school.it went like this " kids yearn to grow up because they feel the restrictions of being children and yearn to be children when they are adults".

  i wonder to myself do you as adults get more mean and cynical as we get older?.

  Did you witness at school?

  i grew up being a witness.

  i remember in elementary and somewhat in middle school i used to be really outspoken about being a witness.

  i even had my own study with a classmate, which thankfully he lost interest because i was getting tired of it too.. but high school was a different story.

  growing up scared of Armageddon

  i was just curious if any of you growing up in the truth were overly scared of armageddon?.

  when my mom came into the org.

  in the 70's,the only so called kids book was the paradise lost book.the pictures in that book scared the pants off me!at night when i was lying in bed,if i would hear a loud plane go over head,or there was a thunder storm,i was sure it was the start of armageddon and i would be sooooo scared.i was wondering if i was the only one overly scared,or if their were others.. also,was anyone out there extremely frightened of the demons?i would hear all these crazy experiences of people having problems with demons,and i was sooo frightened they would come bother me.maybe i was just a big old scaredycat,but if any one else has any experiences,please post them!

  I was around 2001-2002 but not so much any more it is 2011 where is the end? The endtimes is just plain nonsense.

  This period 2011 is good compared to perids during the U.S civil war and the Crusades and the first and Second World War.The world is more peaceful then any other period in history. The Jw's need to study their history.

  Are you conservative or 'out there' as ex jws?

  just wondering.... i have always had a flair to dress up even as a dub.

  i was the one who would wear a bowtie to give a public talk etc.

  post jw i found myself in the world of 50s rock n roll and moved onto rockabilly and psychobilly, with a good dose of punk and goth mixed in at times.

  Nervous break down because of being a JW?

  i know it's sometimes hard to pinpoint causes of things when there could be several potential causes.

  i am wondering if anyone here knows anyone (or maybe you yourself) who has had a nervous breakdown directly or indirectly because of being associated with the jehovah's witnesses.

  i am not on the verge yet, i don't feel like, but then again maybe these things just snap in a person.

  Even the Bible doesn't say that the world is about to end..
