  as a ex jw i am cyncial to dating perhaps because i did not do much dating as a jw.

  do any of you still feel this way?

  i am not against dating but i am still that dating and getting yourself emontionallt attached is sort of a way of being in chains..

  I have encouraged to join clubs at my college and go to school events to meet people.

  I have confidence so that is really not an issue. I just feel nervous around themI think a lot of it is from the Jw upbringing.

  nope, bungi bill's interesting statement from this post didn't take, so i'll start its own.. from my own experience, i hated the field ministry.

  it might just be because of the kind of character i am, whatever, i never was able to overcome that feeling of dread every time i went door-to-door.

  i felt aware of how much people disliked having strangers cold-calling trying to sell them something.

  i read it over 20 years ago.

  now i am reading it from a completely different perspective.

  Thing is I want a geuine relationship a women with whom I can feel connected with.But maybe it is not meant to be because I get too scared and feel that they would laugh at me.

  I would but my My cult programming gets the better of me. Plus I have never been on a true date before I am only 23 I know how sad.

  i just read luckylucy's thread and wanted to tell my story.

  i also want to ask a question: why are women who have children viewed more favorably than women who don't?

  especially if the choice is to not have children.

  Myself I may not have children due to the stress and feelings of commitment. I could never commit myself to being parent.To those that do I respect you but i could not do it.
