  a diamond seems to be an excellent example of this principle, doesn't it?.

  carbon (as in: carbon dioxide) is everywhere and it is "cheap".. but, diamonds are prized as very valuable and expensive.. a diamond, however, consists of almost entirely of : carbon.. .

  tec: Like a false accusation. Like a careless, thoughtless, callous word.

  We are all guilty of this tec,....we are adults in a debate forum,....if you lose sleep, because of what a person says here,.....(we will get over it and live another day).

  Freedom to kill/maim, is not freedom or freewill,...... it is barbaric.

  tec: Suffering comes from far, far more than simply physical.

  It starts with the physical,....... certain physical needs have to be met. Isn' t the spirit of a starving or a chronically ill person affected, by their physical condition?

  tec: Well, maybe not a keeper, because we don't own or control anyone.

  tec: Limited free will - limit the choices a person can make so that they cannot harm anyone else. They can only make the good choices. So if you go to make a bad choice, then you have something stopping you from following through and causing harm.

  ...................

  The highlighted part is not true at all. A person can make a bad choice that severely causes pain for themselves. If a person wants to cause injury to themselves, I say have at it! However, freedom to kill another, maim another, to take someone else's freewill through slavery, death, manipulation is quite another matter.

  As far as free-will is concerned, a small library can be written on the subject,..... for me it is too vague.

  Free-will I assume would have a different definition according to, culture and geography.

  if she were my daughter, and kris humphries said to her what he said to ms. kim, when she voiced her concerns (again) about not wanting to move to minnesota (which she did before getting married and he "pretended" to accept), i might tell her he's the wrong guy/man, too.

  no, i don't believe in divorce "just because,"... and don't know that i would tell my daughter to divorce him (she made her bed, so to say), but.... what did he say?
