  Jehovah's Witnesses - Are they loving?

  jehovah's witnesses love to claim that they are a true religion because they are the most loving people on earth.

  they rant and rave about how they apply john 13:35 to themselves.. in a recent conversation with djeggnog, i was shocked at some of the hateful things that he was saying to me.

  now i know that i have been in some pretty heated debates with others, but i try to never make it personal.

  BrotherD-Why am I debating this. This is elementry stuff. HUMANS can love. All can love. But those that are Christians MUST practice it otherwise they are not Christians no matter what their religious beliefs are.

  I have been affected by the result of conditional love from JW, based on organizational guidelines, does it mean that we pigeon hole all of them?

  As a group yes(doctrine dictated by the WTBTS), but I don't know if it's my place individually to ask.

  Muslims - are they loving? Would you consider this question to be elementary?

  With Christianity you are black and white, no grey area, when it comes to love

  But with non-Christians you are very liberal with love, you say love is possible without Christianity

  BrotherD-On the flip side, if you DON'T believe Jesus is the Christ, then by definition you are not a Christian. If you don't claim the second part of the verse "to be born of God" (like most JWs) I don't see how you can be Christian. But I can't judge that for sure since I'm in no position to give that sort of judgement. I'm just attempting to repeat the Bible.

  BrotherD-BrotherD-No, I wasn't saying that. But for one to be considered a Christian John 13:35 requires them to be loving people. I know alot of loving atheists, agnostics, muslims, jews, etc...

  I am a bit confused with these two statements. If God is love and the only way there can be love is to "believe Jesus is the Christ" and "to be born of God" then love by any other means is not love, whether atheists, agnostics, hindu, buddhist etc,......

  Only "True Christians" have and know what love is.

  sometimes i am proud that i was able to break the bonds that held me in the watchtower bubble for so long.

  lately though, i've been wondering if i have merely traded the borders the watchtower circled around me with some other nonsensical set of rules.. my home, redding ca, is a center piece of a four way intersection of highways and freeways.

  many of them go through the mountains and forests and can be extremely dangerous.

  The illusion of immortality especially among younger folk or those who are promised life forever.

  How dangerous is the seed of the infinite(where you have to sacrifice you life now)

  You say that there is no in between, you are either full blown Christian or not, meaning that you can not pick and choose

  what scriptures you live by, ----that you must accept the bible as it is.

  i saw there are over a billion children under the age of 10 on the earth today.

  (didn't research too hard - just googled it.
