i am looking for more scriptures that can prove to a jehovah witness that god is jesus, and jesus is god.i found only one verse so far in 1jo:5:20: and we know that the son of god is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son jesus christ.
this is the true god, and eternal life.. if you know more scriptures that say directly that god is jesus please tell me the verses the jhw will see plainly that jesus is no way an angel, and he is jehovah god almighty.. my friend said if i can prove by the bible only that jesus is god he will leave the jhw society, and he will know that they are teaching lies and they would be to him a dogma religious sect.
my friend gave me a booklet called should you believe in the trinity?, and is jesus christ the almighty god.

Yet John 1:1 also says "the Word was with God." Is the Father also

been wondering about this lately.... what proof (outside the bible, of course) do we have for the "historical jesus"?.
in my earlier days (post jw to "born again christian") i remember reading that the one thing that differentiates christianity vs. "all the others" was that we had secular historical proof that there was a man that was called jesus, who died on a cross and was resurrected.
now i am wondering just what that proof is/was?

The Trinity does not suggest that the Father is the Son and the Son
is the Father nor that the Holy Spirit is the Father or the Son.
No. The Persons are distinct. Yet there are not three gods, but
one God. On the other hand, it is the JWs who teach that the
Father is God and the Son is a god. That is just as problematic
as the Trinity which they try to disprove.
Some of the same titles that the Father has, the Son has also.
Savior, rock, shepherd, creator, lord, etc. They do the same works:
heal, forgive sins, save, create, etc.
In John 20:28 Thomas calls Jesus "My Lord and my God." This is as
plain as it gets. If he could call Jesus God, so can I.
sorry guys i have more question to which i never could get a real answer.. what is the true motivation for most witnesses to preach?
is it to save others because they really feel bad for nonwitnesses or do they preach because it is required to get into paradise?
The Jehovah's Witnesses is a religion of quotas imposed on the
"publishers" and "pioneers" by its governing body, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. To be in good standing, one is expected to devote so many hours trudging from door to door, to "place" so many magazines and other literature, to make so many "back calls" on interested persons, to conduct so many Bible studies. Numbers and figures, expansion and growth, are of paramount importance. Was quantity important to Jesus? Did he keep a count? Where does it say he went from door to door?

if you are a dub or believe in god or a resurrection how do you know that only humans will be resurected?
as humans are animals and there are many very intelligent species how would we know that they do not have a belief system that we could not understand?

Whatever your views on tongues, I like St. Paul's conclusion in 1 Cor. 13:1: "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels but do not have love, I have become a sounding piece of brass or a clashing cymbal."
no teaching in the bible is clearer, more consistent, than the one which teaches that women are inferior to men.
below i show that it is taught that the woman was created from man, for man, that man is the glory of god, but woman is not.
furthermore, the evangelist paul says that he'll not abide women teaching men, and he refers to genesis to explain why.
To have a discussion on Scripture (expressing your opinions and views) is one thing. But to have the final infallible interpretation (whether from a skeptic or a believer) is another matter. Please don't tell me that your
view is the only one. And I'll try not to make mine the final one either. Also, please don't tell me that if my interpetation doesn't agree with yours that I am not understanding the Bible correctly.
