Anyone leave the org without the help of the net?

How do you feel about street people asking you for money

about half of the freeway exits i get off at have someone there begging.

in the past i felt they were only hitting me up for money to by drugs or booze so i rarely handed them any.

in this economy i'm wondering if some of them aren't really in need of something to eat.

I work at the Soup Kitchen/Shelter, so I tell them there is no need to be begging. But, just to go down to the Soup Kitchen/Shelter and I give them directions. If they're really interested and hungry, they will find their way there. If you see the same people begging at or near the same spot all the time, they're usually just conning you. There's truly help out there if people want it. After all, they seem to have enough initiative to get to where they beg or panhandle. What really amuses me is that sometimes I see some people who I know frequent the Soup Kitchen/Shelter and I see them across the street with a sign panhandling! They're really wanting booze and/or cigarettes. Most people know that and I doubt that they receive much. They might stand a better chance if they panhandled in another section of the city!

if they were satan's tool, they would've been thrilled to give the report..

The Watchtower Society wants to make pagans look bad and think they are used by Satan. But why would God use the shepherds, but Satan used the magi? Since when does Satan have mastery of the stars? The Watchtower Society doesn't even compare to the Magi, since they don't want us to focus on Jesus' birth. Who is REALLY being used by Satan?

Revelation Teaches Jesus is God

i understand that jehovah's witnesses teach that jesus is not god, but the author of revelation seems to teach otherwise:.

yahweh speaking: "i am the alpha and the omega," says the lord god" (revelation 1:8).

more yahweh: "i am the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

I find it interesting that the same honor, power and glory that apply to Jehovah in Rev. 4:13 are said to Jesus in Rev. 5:13. John 5:23 shows that the Son gets the same honor as the Father, not a lesser honor. It is also interesting to see that Rev. 21:22 speaks of one temple and Rev. 22:3 of one throne.

Swedish government declines to give JW financial support

quite recently, watchtower in sweden applied for governmental financial support, as they are entitled to as a registered religious community.

however, the government declined to accept the application, stating that the reason was that the jws do not adhere to democratic values and standards and do not support mainstream values.. the witnesses are upset, because they feel discriminated against.

they state that the financial issue is not the real issue, but to be treated in a similar way as other religious communities.. they have appealed the decision and plan to send a report explaining the witnesses views in more detail.. the branch office chose the religious, pentecostal (assembly of god) newspaper "dagen" to make an interview.. here is the photo report of the article.. .

It seems to me that what the authorities are really upset about is the literature. The ban is on 18 pieces of literature. Maybe they view it as some type of religious "pornography."
